lame 1/4 mile results (drag)

60'.......1.86
330......5.531
1/8.......8.650
mph.....78.60
1000....11.357
1/4.......13.584
mph.....101.54

IX
-flash
-upper i.c. pipe
-intake

i know my 60' can be better, but i am having clutch problems still (i smell clutch when gently pulling away from a stop but it does not seem to be slipping away where?)

also, i know i could be shifting faster.....I guess i just expected to at least trap a higher mph.... This was my first time at the track with a 4wd car and when i am at the track it's typically on a bike.

are my times/mph a result of simply bad 60' and poor shifting?

The problem turned out to be me. I simply can't stomach beating on the car haha. I am too nice to it.

Was the car tuned for the intake? Or was it added after? I know you know this but that is some really poor mph unless you're racing at 7k feet elevation. I'm also curious as to you smelling clutch even when you're not racing.

no, it was tuned for the intake and made just about 300whp. here's the link to me talking about the clutch https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=255782

At this point I am going to get it looked at b.c. somethings not adding up. like i said the clutch smells even under mellow conditions..I've driven quick cars and bikes before and this car does feel like it's making 300whp...

I know on my car with stock clutch if I try and launch to hard it will slip the clutch on the launch and not hold well down the track. I have my launch set at 4500rpm and dump it quite fast 1.8-1.9 is my best 60ft this way but the clutch is much happyer.

Shifting does make a huge difference.

it didn't even seem like it was slipping beyond what i was purposely doing when launching. And each launch felt good.

If anyone wants to contribute what they feel is the optimal shift point for my setup, that's cool. Thanks for the responses so far

if the clutch is slipping thats going to hurt ur traps...your shifting is very very slow, should be about a 5.0 at 330 for average shifters...

thanks, that's what i was afraid of. I think going to the track after a long and trying day made me shift like a grandma lol. I was leaving the track and i was like, "wtf was i doing?" lol

I want to make sure i have all the knowledge to run a better time, the last thing i want is to go back to the track and run mid 13's again and again. I am going to flush the clutch system and rebleed it. Hopefully that will solve my clutch problem b/c my clutch really shouldn't be going yet...

I went to the drag strip yesterday in my 06 MR. I turned a 13.40 best time with a 1.8 / 60ft, and top speed of 109. My MR is Stock except for exhaust. I'm a terrible driver, this time was the first run of the day and I forgot to turn the air conditioner off...hahaha...I know my Evo can do better when I get my EBC installed.

Are you trying to hurt my feelings? lol. I had the best top speed of a 103 on a different run. What were you shifting at?
