First of all, wrong forum. This should be place in the Drag Racing threads. Second. Thats horrible. Sorry, but it is. You should be trapping 6 mph more and should be in the 13.5-13.6 range. And if you were to bring your 60' down you would see much better times. But keep practicing. You cant expect to be perfect right out of the box!

Work on those 60 fts...keep in mind the stock VIII is a low 13 second car. Your MPH is down, so this isnt a good showing for you. I would check your car over for any possible problems.

This is only true in the 05 VIII isnt it? I thought the 03 and 04s were mid- high 13s stock and the 05s were low 13s due to the few extras they had over the earlier years.

Your right, stock 03's are about a 13.4-13.6 car with a mildly proficient driver. With those 60's hes not gonna do any better than low 14's but if he could cut some 1.8's he would drop it to a high 13, and if he actually learns how to drive it mid 13's like he should be. I go 12.9 with a stage 1 evo with 1.79 60's, so theres a lot left, the smaller hotside doesnt like giving you trap though.

well i think its great since you have only had the car for such a short amount of time. good job. just keep practicing and your times will go down. what everyone is forgetting is the rush of your first few times down the track. your times arent gonna be as good cause your so dang nervous.
im sure you will have your times down in the mid 13s in no time.
also like to note that last time i went to california speedway there were about 5 evos running 15's...wtf is that. and there were serveral passes....SEVERAL. and i only saw 2 of those by the end of the day break into 14's. now that is pathetic

Great??? How is he going to suddenly do mid 13s from driving? He only trapped 95 - that means the car is terribly slow. Yes, his driving is also poor, but he's not going to create horsepower with a better 60'.

What track in AZ, SIR in Tucson? If so then your not bad for an VIII, I ran 13.6 @98 in my IX bone stock with a slipping clutch, most STI(04-05) run 14.2 with a good driver, at around 96 mph, the newer STI stock are in the 13.7-13.8 range so pretty much with the EVO IX, i have seen most new Mustangs do 14.9-15.0, c6 vettes run 14.0 there, non Z06 of course. Get your launch down and you can prob hit a 13.7.

well as i said...his time will go down. i didnt say he was gonna trap so much higher. my guess is that he hasnt got launching down all that well. once that happens his times will go down...not everyone is a pro like you warrtalon.
plus he is in AZ were it is about 120 degrees in the shade...bet the track is about 135 or so

Where are you shifting at? Maybe a boost leak or the extreme heat making the car a bit weak. You should be trapping over a 100 for sure.
