My 1/4 Mile Times at Sacramento Raceway

Well this weekend I went with my friends to the CMI Races at Sacramento Raceway, and this was the first time taking my lancer to the drags..I was kinda dissapointed with my runs, as it was really hard to get traction, and was hella hot out today, 90+ degrees outside, but here are my times for today, I made 3 runs, First 2 Testing, and 3rd was 1st round, I have CAI, header, and Catback, I also put my cat back on, so i was running without test pipe...which sacrificed me some time, but oh well..

1st Run
Reaction : .909
I1 : 2.602
I2 : 7.032
I3 : 10.730
MPH : 66.5
I4 : 13.911
E.T. : 16.649 @ 81.437

This Run i smoked tires all the way thru 1st, but had best ET but lowest MPH

2nd Run
Reaction :.471
I1 : 2.865
I2 : 7.453
I3 : 11.213
MPH : 65.368
I4 : .000
E.T. : 17.168 @ 82.925

This run i red lighted and bogged 2nd trying to launch a lil better...track was getting really hot at this time as well

3rd Run
Reaction : .476
I1 : 2.647
I2 : 7.175
I3 : 10.940
MPH : 65.269
I4 : 14.168
E.T. : 16.898 @ 83.320

Red Lighted again barely, but had fastest MPH, also smoked all way thru 1st on this one..

Hopefully I will be low 16's and possibly High 15's after i get a throttle body and put the test pipe back on..i know i could of run better if i had better starts, but oh well, this was my first time racing at that track also

I also forgot to mention that i was the only lancer there, and i did not see any evo's...there was 1 SRT-4 there, and 2 subies, 1 which was my friend...I raced him my first run and he ran a 13.7, his best time ever....go figure

The 60's kinda stink. Not that I know I could do better or anything. Stock tires explain a bit as far as the smoking goes though. Still, I'm suprised your speeds were only in the low-mid 80's.

I'd suggest finding a deserted place to practice launches and getting some new tires. If you **** up a launch you're never going to get a decent time especially with a FWD car where getting started well means ending well (read: faster). Hell, if you're strapped for cash, just replace your front tires and you should be good to go. At any rate...good luck and thanks for sharing the times.

he has a 02 WRX with downpipe, exhaust and boost controller, his MPH was like 97 I think....the srt-4 ran 14.1-14.3 @99 mph or so in that range..
My other friend was also there with his SE-R Spec V, and he ran his best time ever, now that he has a header...he ran a 15.1 somethin, he has CAI, header, catback

Finally another Lancer goes to the track besides myself. Those sound like some good times but Hobie is right. The 60' is killing you. I managed a best of 2.385 and am averaging in the 2.43... time frame. You'll run much better times when you get that launch down.

but that's great for the first time to the track. Let me see what my 60's were first time out. I ran my best time after my third time there.

Ok those were 2.5's and 2.6's so I am sure you can get low 16's with just a better launch.

Nice going

BTW still on stock tires. I need to replace those 2 front ones because they are worn unevenly after 35K miles and those trips to the track.

I forgot to ask you Black L. Do you go through the water? Most people say that is a killer for stock tires!!!! Drive around and dry hop ( pop the clutch a couple times) to get any debris off the tires. That should help you stick it a little more.

hmm..i assume you have a manual, maybe post your times thru the run if you still have your slips, you should be way lower than 17.3 with the mods you have, maybe it's the atmosphere there??

I go to Orlando Speedway I think that's near titusville. Correct me if I am wrong. But You have the Spec V 17's on your car. I am still stock rims and tires. There's a big weight savings there.

Oh and before I go to bed. Where do you guys shift? I try to stay at 5500rpm and I feel like I get better times that way. I tried a few runs to 6K but they were not as fast although my 60's were bad with those. Maybe I can shave a few more off?
