Just got back from the track! With horrible times!

Well I just got back from raceway park with the Evos and Wrx's. I planned on spectating, but ended up running brackets. I ran last year and ended up with a 13.9 @99 with just a turboback. I finally added parts and got tuned so I figured what the hell. My car is an 04 evo 8 with intake, turboback, fuel pump,ss o2 housing and Ivey tuned set at 21.5lbs. Can someone help me and explain what i did wrong. I was guessing high 12's and atleast trapping 105-110.

My 1st run: 2nd run 3rd run 4th (final run)

well for one your 60' isn't the best.. you should try getting it down into the 1.6-1.7 range.. What tires are you using?

did you launch the car? your 60 foot could use improvement, and your shifting is slow- try and work on these two, and you will reach your goal

the weather didn't help any as well

i was at raceway and saw alot of evos..really with bad times...your 60fts are horrible...do you have a twostep? also the weather doesnt help at all...your car should be trapping over 100-105 mph......

Almost every evo there that went to the line that used 2 step bogged horribly.

Seemed like an off day for everyone, especially with the heat.

Ignore what people are saying about the launch. Although it isn't good by any means, the car is really down on power and you should focus on that.

I'd reccomend changing the plugs, doing a boost leak test, checking for exhaust leaks, etc. Your car should be much more powerful

i agree... there should be a power issue with the car not being able to pass 100mph...

the heat was a significant reason for low performance for most of the cars...

however, i saw some really bad driving from many people... In some cases i couldn't believe my eyes... Thank god that the Slowbarus guys were even worse...

i heard many cars keeping the revs way up... Maybe some of the guys were new in drag racing the Evo...

Ohhh, and something else... which is CRITICAL!!!

i saw a fellow Evo owner using ice to cool down the engine... which is completely understandable... HOWEVER we apply the ice on the intercooler if possible, the intake manifold the intake pipes etc etc.... NOT ON THE CYLINDER HEAD... imagine having a really hot head with really hot springs, retainers etc etc and then apply ice directly to it..... not good...

Thanks guys for all your help. I'll have my car check asap for leaks. My plugs were changed not even 1,000k miles ago.

I was also bogging horribly EVERY time I launched..yesterday was the first day in my life where I was at a track and bogged when I tried to launch...and it happened in every single run...I was on snow tires and changed the pressure to 20psi instead of the 35psi I always run at...so Im thinking thats what changed my cars reaction so much..my tires were actually gripping on 20psi and I wasnt used to that ...I easily ran 11.6 on pump the weekend before and I could break 11's on race gas at the evo wrx shootout
