need to know a good proven shift point with hks 272 and 9.8 turbo.i feel car likes from 7000 to 7500,car makes 375hp at dynojet, peak of 26psi at 4500 and keep 22psi to redline with meth/water.going to the track next weekend and need to shortcut all problems.i test the car and ran a disapointed 12.40-114.5,1.84 60ft,i shift it at 8100 and launch so hard it slip the front tires all 60 foot. going to use the 2step at 6000, lower the front tire pressure and shift at maybe 7500.what you guys think?

 

We are going to need to see a dyno graph to be able to help you with this question.

 

7k is a good starting piont

 

8100 is way too high. shift sometime after 7k when you feel the power slightly dieing or if you're experienced you'll know exactly when that'll be. I ran a 12.0 @ 112 shiftin between 7.1-7.3 all gears

 

agreed. I rarely take mine over 7K. If you are tuned, where do you make your peak power. I would suggest shifting a few rpms after peak hp.

 

No need to go much over 7000 with the stock turbo. I think I would go to 7200 or so and that was about it.
