12.018 @ 115.00 MPH dammit

I tried but I'm going to give in and install a few more bolt-ons/get a race gas tune finally to make sure I get my 11s. Had a couple of 12.15 passes with 1.79x 60's before "hooking up" with a 1.728 on 25psi in all tires. Still not launching like I used to for some reason. Ran 103-octane and 25Psi on my 93-octane tune.

breakdown:
60' - 1.728
330 - 4.987
1/8 - 7.726
MPH - 87.91
1000 - 10.051
1/4 - 12.018
MPH - 115.00

oh well

Can anyone speculate on why it seems like my 1/8 mile traps are always so low compared to what everyone else is running? My car isn't breaking up or knocking or anything and I seem to still trap pretty high in the 1/4 mile for my mods.

Maybe your 1/8 mile trap speed and ultimately not achieving the full potential of the car because you are extending your shift points beyond the optimum point, which causes you to run in a gear when the power is already falling rapidly!!!

Shift points would be my guess.

No sympathy for you, though, until you hit 12.000 like me.

i actually think i shift early if anything but you may be right. I know sometimes it's hard to gauge that 1 to 2 shift while launching/spinning. I'll definitely look at that more closely though.

Could be too early OR too late - if you had some logs, we could do an analysis. I actually shift the 1-2 much earlier than the earlier gears (~6500rpm), because it seems to run out of breath much more quickly after a full boost nasty launch, but the later gears I do around 7100 (stock cams at sea level).

Ohhh, very nice and smooth curve that stays even up top. Not sure how you manage to do that on the stock turbo especially with the tight gearing (what gear is that?), but based on that graph, I'd do 7200-7300rpm.

i'm pretty sure it's a 4th gear pull. I'll try wringing it out just a bit further next time for certain, and I'll bring the laptop along to log this time. It was too crowded to experiment, got 4 runs in the whole night.

i belive that your only problem is your 1/8 speed

on my 12.003 i did trap 88.66 in the 1/8th, and that ended up being 113.98 in the 1/4 on a hot day.

Dude i feel ya!!! I hit numerous 12.0* Before i hit my 11's. Before i read down i was thinking your 8th time was little high. Mine was a 7.61. Seems like you made up for it hitting 115 though. I ran 114.83. Dont get frustrated, it will come. Ohh and i did mine on pump. haha j/k man!
