Dan - Thanx for the heads up, and sharing your info. I'm enlightened now. I've been trying to decide my next mods on my path for 11's. Now I'll have to rethink my way of thinking. My MR has 11's in it right now I just need to drive it.
And lastly Dan we are looking at what you and others in creating the allout Drag Evo, but also for leading the way for us street class racers too. I'm now seeing the Evo for what it is; a beast right out of the box. I'm glad I haven't already purchased the mods I had planned, now I'll re-think all that.
Dan do you have your own website? You need one.......it'd be very interesting.....

no joke that thing is quick! and dan is an amazing driver. cant wait to see wat ur going to do with the evo 8!? brake into the 8's or should i say break the record!!!

Well your trap is pretty good, with some higher octane fuel and better 60fts you should be in the 11s no problem

well I made 12 more whp on a mustang dyno taking the cat back off, also gained almost 2mph in the 1/4. I would say its somewhat of a restriction, but driving on the street its worth having a quiet cabin and having a little less power.

30lbs of boost max, tapering to 17psi at redline, I'm looking for ways to hold 20psi, got a forge wastegate then check for boost leaks

would an open air filter help you sustain more boost on redline?

D -- In your opinion what is holding the 9 back? Maybe what one thng or area; that in your opinion would benefit from modification? for instance--LICP or Cams or a combo of incoming charge or outgoing charged air? Also would like to hear your thoughts on Meth. I'm looking to try the preload via the E-Brake. I'm boosting at 17lbs at 5500, 2 step when I launch, I get tons of tire spin. And Im right at 5th gear at the line. Maybe need to up redline. So are you running 30 lbs ? that sounds like allot....

I tried open air filter, no difference, talked to some people they are saying it has to do with the MIVEC, not sure what the reasoning for that is honestly.

well if I could hold boost more it would help out a lot, other than that I'm not going to change anything, car runs great the way it is for what is in it. I personally don't like the meth too many things can go wrong, I would rather run 100 octane or e85 than have to worry about something going wrong with the meth system.

I think 17lbs of boost off the line is too much for a stock turbo, if you are spinning tires you need to make some adjustment, you want as little spin as possible on the launch. So, either lower tire pressure, 2 step or boost off the line. Some of my 1.5 60 foots on the stock turbo was without a 2 step and no boost on the launch.

Very good times Dan. Those times are right there with many of the 35R's. Your driving will definitely put the car in the very low 11's. Best of luck with it.

haha yeah having the down time on my 8 made me want another Evo to play with on the street. The hard part is to not put my left over parts on my daily driver and have 2 race cars

Thanks, the car is a blast to drive on the street, I hope to someday road race it or autocross it, the low end torque is insane.
