11.5's possible with my setup?

My goal is to run 11.5 on stock evo9 turbo can it be done with my setup.

car is 06 tb evo 9 gsr
full weight minus spare tire and jack/tools
18'' wheels

aem intake
hks 272 mivec cams
arp headstuds
turbosmart bov
walbro 255
turbo xs fmic
ams licp
greddy uicp
hallman mbc @ 30 psi
aem alky injection
act clutch
prolite flywheel 9lb
megan manifold
megan o2 housing
megan tbe
reflash

im guessing the car will do 400whp+ on a dyno jet, i did 365hp/365/whp with bpu and cams, so with meth im guessin it should be there.

ive never ran the car with this set up, im thinking of getting a forge wg to hold more boost at redline but i dunno.

i know bench mark racing isnt good. but im wondering if the car has the right mods and power to run a 11.5

I would say with a good tune your setup is at least good for like 11.7's...You could probably squeeze a 11.5 if you launch well. aIt's really gonna depend on the driver. I have personally seen some1 go 11.6's with similar mods on a 9 but idk...

Tuned right and driven real well the car should be able to go low 11's.

You should have no problem hitting 11.5 with that setup. I was running consistent 11.6's on pump gas stock turbo. Here was my setup.....

The best I could get with bald street tires, spinning thru 1st was......

R/T = .313
60' = 1.755
330 = 4.881
1/8 = 7.490
MPH = 94.09
1000 = 9.729
1/4 = 11.625
MPH = 116.39

Car weighed in at 3070 lbs with a quarter tank, no spare, full interior. With me in it it weighed 3205 lbs.

Mods are......

GSC S1 cams, ARP Head Studs,
Megan Racing: Tubular manifold, o2 housing, DP, TP, Cat-back,
ETS: 3"Intercooler kit, Intake kit, Small battery kit,
ACT 6 sprung 6 puck, SS Braided Clutch line, restrictor
removed, Buschur Racing shifter bushings
Walbro 255
Hallman MBC
Stock turbo

Good Luck!!

hopefully i can cut sum 1.6's

i know about 400whp people start stredding the tires threw first gear so
im thinking of going back to the stock rims and get drag radials
and get a set of coil overs as well

also considering the forge wg, i heard they can hold about 25 psi at redline, i dont know tho. can anyone fill me in>?

I trapped almost the same as you, but I have only trapped 90.8 in the 1/8 th mile? I am on stock cams still. What rpm do you shift at? I have yet to run at sea level so no idea what I can run down there, but I have run 11.939, but many many many 12.00xxx runs.

I also have the forge WGA but cant hold more than around 20 at redline(7000),I hold 19 at 7600 but thats between 3500-4200 feet. At sea level it should be higher. I have the spring it came installed with. When I go green I may change to the stiffer spring since Ill need a retune anyway. But for a reference I do hold 1.5-2psi more at high rpm w/ the forge as well as a much flatter boost curve.

Your times are not the norm for an evo. Most evo's that have similar mods pick up more then 22 mph's on the back half. And most evo's that have similar mods don't hit the 1/8 at 94. Your car is very very very fast in the 1/8 at 7.4 with your mods and "spinning thru first".

I don't think 400whp is good enough for an 11.5 with out some weight reduction and the 18's need to be very similar weight to the stock or that will be a problem. You don't need drag radials at your hp level. I would say with excellent driving ie.... a 1.6 60ft and banging the gears like no other I would expect a 11.7-11.8 at 116 to 117. That would be my guess.

That being said with a normal driver with similar mods I see evo's run mid 12's all the time. The driver makes a big difference.

Highly unlikely you will hit 11.5s, because that would take some serious driving, but the mods on the car SHOULD be capable of hitting 11.5s in the right hands. The problem is things are not always equal, so just because you have X set of mods and Y amount of WHP on a dyno, it doesn't mean the car will perform well on a drag strip.

As for koffeebean, there's no way that timeslip was done on pump gas unless he refers to 100oct as pump gas or 93+alky as pump gas. I'm sorry, but 7.49@94 in the 1/8th on pump gas with a weak 60' is just not believable.
