New Times At Roswell Evo IX

Well I retuned my car over the off season, finally bought an LC-1 and got the afrs locked down. Took her out to Roswell, NM first pass with low boost(24 lbs) on 100 octane hit a 12.020 @ 115.63, I have run this time in Tucson many many times on higher boost. Bumped it back up to 26.5 psi and hit an 11.9999 at 118.42, i let her cool down an hour or so and backed it up with an 11.9770 @ 118.67. I have run ONE elveven before, but it felt like everything had to be perfect. On all these runs a kept my two step at 5500 since wheelspin has been a major issue at this track in the past. All my 60' times were 1.75, these Toyo R1R are actually a pretty good drag tire. I am extremely happy with my trap, and the fact we had about a 5-7 mph headwind. I know I can hit an 11.7 in Tucson if everything goes right. The density altitude was around 4200 ft Friday night out here. I also use car 6036 track to track to be consistant.

Rob, a few things, first of all congrats, me and Socorro were very happy for you when you texted me the timeslip on her phone and thanks for calling me also because I know for sure I get as excited as you to hear about it.

We were talking about you last night in a car meet because I showed some people your timeslips and all I can say is that you really kick some a$$. There are people running turbokits arund the area(Tucson area) that still haven't broke 11's.

Your traps are also as strong and faster that people with Evos and turbokits. I am very happy for you, 118.6mph at that altitude(3600ft) is really kicking some a$$ considering you are on stock turbo and have some mild mods.

Glad to see that your 60' are now down. The very last time I raced you at SIR(when I got my best on the Eclipse) something about your car wasn't right, you weren't pulling the expected 1.6-1.7. Nest step is to take it to Phoenix for the glory, it is 100% garanties you will drop 2-3 tenth and you should be able to pick up a couple of MPH. Your Evo is now down to 3030lbs? WOW, you surpassed my 3038lbs GSX now..

Carlos

I know it has more in it, i had two step at 5500, last time in Tucson I was running Falken RT 615 and i do not know if they were old when shipped but the car would just spin on those things, I now have Toyo R1R, several months on the car and these things stick, all three of my 60' times were 1.75 so at least it was consistant, next time i run in Tucson ill try raising the two step, but I wanted some back to back 11 sec runs and got them. I want to take another 30-40 lbs of the car(maybe 20 off myself) but as you know it takes money, Ams lower center member, rear mustache bar kit as well as the side diff mounts should be 25 lbs, plus still need rear two piece rotors, so thats 33 lbs, I want it at high 2900 lbs range race weight. I am saving for cosworth cams and valve train, hopefull next month if we get that tax rebate thing.

^^ Rob, besides the $hity Falkens you always have the $hity Tucson SIR track factor. The rear rotors would definately help and the cams would also aid as well.

I hope to see you at the IAperformance anniversary meeting on April the 26th.

Thanks, Anniversary? Ill come down whats going on that weekend? And Tucson is actually a pretty nice track compared to this one, althought the track prep in Roswell is MUCH improved over last year. Tucson has always been inconsistant. And when I come home Phoenix will be a go.

255/40-17 Toyo R1R and I raised the limiter to 8000 and not hitting it yet, its hard to see where the lights are at this track, theyre marked with cones, the display is at about the half track. Bottom line I stay in it until Im about to hit the limiter.
