No Excuses rules discussion - I have a question

It's funny because in real sanctioned racing that's one of the oldest trick that was once used by many. The mph always increases a whole bunch when that trick is aplied.
As for it being allowed for setting records for.......... you know where. That's going to start a whole new debate by itself. It seems there are going to have to be some rules for everyone to be happy. The problem with rules, how are they going to be enforce during a test-n-tune?

Im sure it depends on the track and the NHRA involvement there. all my videos will have vids of the tree and the tire

The question I am asking is SHOULD it be allowed to use a aero attachment which tricks the staging beams ?
That is it - SIMPLE QuESTION -
Anyone care to give an opinion ?

The only one that brought up that topic anywhere would be you!
No one is attacking anyone. It's just a fact of racing that's all. Anyone who's experienced in racing know that's one of the oldest trick in the books.
Many pro stock drivers were caught back in the day using that technique. You could actually see them get on the brakes before the beams and have the front scraping the track through the beams sometimes. Some guys even had the chute setup to gave the same effect. Some pull the chute before the traps for the same reason but it can also be very dangerous if it's setup to have the same effect to break the beams early.

Food for thought
4:5 GROUND CLEARANCE
Minimum 3 inches from front of car to 12 inches behind centerline
of front axle; 2 inches for remainder of car, except oil pan and
exhaust headers where permitted. When permitted under Class
Requirements, devices used for anti-rotation purposes (i.e.,
wheelie bars) are exempt from the 2-inch-clearance rule.

Ok have fun you two.
in the meantime - anyone else if free to add their thoughts about this sibject - should it be a ACCPETED time claim if someone runs a aero part that effects the beams ?

Is it actually cheating or just pulling out all the tricks?
I'm 50/50 so I cannot give an honest answer.
If it was was legit racing I would most deffinately say 'NOT ALLOWED'.
For setting records during test-n-tuning I say 'ALLOWED.'

Honestly this will go right up there with some of the other stuff everyone else didn't like on the other thread.

You're the only one instigating stuff in this tread so far.
