Sorry for the 'let down guys'. We got there and tech'd in nice and early but Sharky had some hang-ups. I made my first 3 passes and waited for a bit, but he didn't arrive yet. Instead of blowing a free pass, I went for it when my staging lane was called. I ended up with 3 11sec passes and the best pass ended up being;;;
1.83 60ft
4.870 330ft
7.397@ 96.56mph
9.577 1000ft
11.39@123.45
28psi tapering to 24.
Before you guys tell me that a 35r is supposed to blah,blah,blah, let me just say this.
I only decided to go to etown this morning after an invitation from a cool guy, Sharkbite. I really wasn't prepared. I put c16 in this car for the FIRST time today AFTER getting off th NJ turnpike on the way to the track (I had almost 1/2 tank of 93 in the car this morning when the invite was sent). With Ricky driving, I street tuned the car for this gas on a 15min drive to the track.
The car rips the tires 20ft out. My best 60ft was a 1.736 on the advans. ( I made the mistake of having my profec b OFF on the first pass and made the first pass on wastegate boost-20psi- and ran 11.68@117.43)
For some stupid reason, all of my logs show boost nose diving past 7200 about 5psi. I've tried everything so far to cure this. I think my wastegate is next on the chopping block.
A set of tires, wheel alignment, solid boost, and an ait sensor install and the Blue Beast should trap 130+mph. Stock block, head, intake manni, tb, self-tuned.
Car hit the fuel cut limit (33psi) on this pass but was MOVING. I thought it was a 10 sec pass for sure when I left the gate. I guess I turned the knob up too much on the profec b. This boost controller is a dinasaur. I've had it for 4 years. I just love the control from the driver seat, but it let's you get a little too greedy sometimes. Spun the hell out of first but felt some nice mph coming. After hitting the fuel cut a bunch of times I got off of it and went 12.50@ 80mph? (not a misprint)
It was really cool meeting some of you evom guys at the track today!! Sorry if I seemed distant, I was in a zone!! One of you guys asked me about the clutch in my car. It's an exedy twin disc SD. I love this clutch. Easy as pie to launch, consistent as hell, and smooth stock-like engagement. Only con is that it's noisy as hell. Like a 4kin bag of rocks everytime you press the pedel. As long as you aren't taking your girl to the movies with your car anymore-this is the clutch for you...
SHarkbite did finally get there. He made 2 passes that I know of. First one in the high 11's and I didn't see the time come up on the second--maybe he will chime in with the slips. It would have been an epic battle,,,hehehe. Maybe with a little bit prior notice and us swapping phone numbers we can make it happen sometime in the near future. I'm bringing 'sneakers' for the next 'dance'.
Thanks to my wife for the footage with my cheesy camera-- We're working on a getting something that works better.
By the way Ron, my 'AK' is ready for your 'peeshooter'. JUST BRING IT.
