The 2nd BR Pump Gas Amigo Goes 9's!!
Well, what a LONG weekend. After watching David's RS go low 9's last week and listening to Eric's (SPIN2GST) gloating for the last month, I was itching to get the motorcycle slicks on the car and try to run a 9 in my car. David agreed to let me use the slicks for the weekend. So I drive up to Akron Friday night, meet up with Eric and get drunk!
Saturday, 8am we get up and get rolling to the track. We decided to start off on pump gas to try to get the car dialed in on the slicks. The best 60ft we were able to get was a 1.51 which netted a 10.44@135.07 on pump gas. So I improved my pump gas time a couple tenths. I was about out of pump gas so we decided to switch to Q16.
Put the Q in and played with the suspension and two step a little more. Finally got the car dialed in the way I wanted it and was able to pull off a 1.44 and two 1.46 60 fts. Unfortunately due to my superior hungover driving, my best time of the day was a 10.16@143.66
Frustrated, we head home for the day. Eric talks to Trent and he agrees to come out with us today. We get there about 10am and get the car setup. I make one pass but the two step wasn't setup correctly and bogged the launch. 1.85 60ft and 10.8@144 Trent shows up, we talk about suspension setup for a little bit, he adjusts the two step and goes for a pass...BAM! 9.91@144 on a 1.53 60 ft. Trent is the freaking man! I made 11 total passes in my car yesterday and can't get one 9!
I made one more pass after that. 1.54 60ft and a 10.13@145.60 I was really low on Q16 and didn't want to push it so we called it a day.
I am going to go back up in a few weeks when its cooler and run again with Trent. If we can get the car to go low/mid 1.4 60 fts like it did yesterday, there is no reason the car can't go 9.70's/9.60's.
Now I just need to work on my power shifting.
Remember, this is a FULL WEIGHT street car. It weighs in at 3200lb with me in it. Has AC, heat, power windows, power door locks, stereo, sunroof, etc. I also drove the car from Cincinnati, OH to Akron, OH and back....that's 600 miles round trip. How many other cars do you know of that can drive up, make thirteen 10 second passes and one 9 second pass and drive back home??!?!?!
Thank you to everyone at Buschur Racing!! You guys go above and beyond the call of duty to help all of us out. David you are an awesome friend and have done so much for me! This summer has been awesome!! Trent...thank you for all the suspension advice to get the car setup. Also thanks for setting the bar so high for me.... No worries, I'll get my own in due time. Indy, thank you for the suspension advice also. Your thoughts were the difference between a 1.55 and a 1.44 60ft for me.
Here is the video and slip.

hahaha...yes I was!! You'd see a few guys come over and look in the car....what, did they think I had a 2nd motor sitting in the passenger seat?!?!? Most of them didn't say anything to me...probably a pride thing for their 7.xx 1/8 mile bracket cars.....

Tim thats awesome congrats. You will make the 9 sec. pass aswell. There is something to be said about you guys driving so far to the track, making 11-12 passes, then driving home. Thats just plain sick. Nice Job!
