With the stock advans I have my best 60ft to date with nowhere near the experience and practice that I have now. That's 1.701 and I was fairly consistant on pulling low 1.7s all the time.

I know guys that have pulled even low 1.6s with the stock tire.

I guess the problem with street tires is consistency.

So my understanding is that the best street/strip tire is still the BFG TA...

On 16s has anyone tried the MT et street? It's looks like the Hoosier QTP in 16" but t has kore grooves which could make much more streetable. The only disadvantage I think it's weight which is 29 pounds if I am not mistaken compared to 21 on the QTP...

slowrice, I've said it before and will say it again for you slowrice readers. Jeff told David and I both when David asked him what was his best 60' time. Jeff asked "on this setup?" (meaning the current turbo). David said "Yes". Jeff said, "Today, on the Hoosiers". Now, he may have run a quicker 60' somewhere else on MT motorcycle slicks (I was there remember? Of course you can't remember, you're drunk all the time). Now, I've never lied on EvoM, don't intend to, so get off of your personal attacks and let the facts be known. You wouldn't know the truth if it ran over you.

Mich pilots 235-440-17- I managed low 1.60s and squeaked out a 1.59 60ft. Very good all around tire

Bridgestone potenza reo1r 245-45-17 another great all around tire with several high 1.5 60fts and consistant 1.60-1.61 60fts The only problem i have with this tire size is, I lost 2 mph on the big end. This would be with the red turbo on pump gas running 10.7-10.80s The rim and tire package was about 3 lbs heavier than 235-40-17(thats rims and tires)

Bridgestone Potenza r009 all season 235-40-17, Mph went back up, and 60ft was low to mid 1.60's I did manage a couple high 1.5 with these tires!

Bfg Drag radials 225-45-17- low to mid 1.5s all day long!

275-40-17 micky thompson et streets i couldnt get to fit with out fender rubbing tires in corners and im sure they would have rubbed when the car squats

Generals (JUNK) 235-45-17 mid 1.60 60fts

Those are the ones i have tried on 17's. I didnt do burnouts with any of these tires, getting the 2 step set up correct and the right finesse is the BIG KEY to a decent 60ft. time! I believe any tire will 60ft 1.60's if you do this! Now if i ran 18 rims i would go with the mickey thompson drag radials with out any question! The fastest Drag radial cars in the country run Mickeys. 6.90s at 200mph Of coarse thats with a progressive boost controller

Just my 2 cents, take it for what its worth! I have only made a couple passes down the strip
If anyone has any questions PM me! I would be glad to help!

I would start about 5K and increase or decrease 500 RPM at a time to get the best result. I got my 2 step set a 6500 RPM however; it may be too high of a start. My 60' have not been dialed in since my E85 conversion which is expected to make 700 WHP.

For those interested in the new Hoosier DR's we had them out at a TNT Sat.

They seemed to work very well on a 450 hp (MD) Evo 9

The car last week was running on 18" wheels/tires and 11.9 @ 119 w/ 1.9 60'

With just a simple swap of wheels/tires (stock evo 8 wheels) on his first run went 1.58 60'

Car ran a 11.4 @ 123

I worked w/ him on his launch technique and was able to get the car down to an 11.1 @ 124.

Unfortunately the 60ft timer got wiped out so we couldn't get any more solid #'s but if you take the incrememntals it's obvious that he was going mid-low 1.5x's

Vids will be posted in another thead.

I messed up my T-case and rear diff on Nitto's. Go with BFG's. They won't last long but you won't have to worrie about your T-case or rear diff getting messed up. Plus you will get a better 60'ft with them.

I am thinking on getting me a set for winter time down here in south florida. Roads tend to be cooler and will get better traction. Hope with the road being cooler that I won't burn through them so quick.

What tire pressure were you running on those Potenzas at that time?

I would like to take mine to the track, but am afraid of hop and breaking a TC.
