First Night at the 1/4 Drag Strip @ OSW - Orlando, Florida
This was my first trip to the 1/4 drag strip ever. I finally have basic performance upgrades and some nice grippy BFG KDW2 tires. One thing I learned is that I really enjoy ripping out of the hole in the Evo off the line. That and the track grips well compared to the street. I didn't hit what I was shooting for... I would have liked to cut a 12.xxx second pass, but with more seat time, I think I can get there.
-Daily Driven Evo IX tuning thread.
-Stock Turbo @ 24.4 psi. I am tuned up to 27lbs, but the peak was at 24.4 - 24.6 all night for some reason.
Here are my 4 passes all on 93 pump.
Advice and input please, aside from being a n00b

congrats, Nice to see you made it to the track.. Didnt this car make 374whp on a MD??
Some interesting things to point out also.. your worst 60ft yielded your best MPH.. your best 60ft yielded your worst mph..
Very similar to when Most-wanted went down to 1.42 60fts and the trap speed dropped but the car went 10's instead of 11's.. just some info i thought i would share as many in the central florida area could not understand how the car lost some mph going to a 24.5 slick and dropping the 60ft .1-.15..
a little more practice and i am sure youll get into the 12's.. good luck!!

What kind of mods have you done and what did the car dyno at? Because i was at the track two weeks ago and I ran a 12.71@107mph putting down 345whp@25psi. But all in all not bad for your first track day.

As far as my mods...I linked the thread in my first post. Link here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...965&highlight=
Thanks all for going easy as it was my first time ever to the track. I went on a last minute decision - the weather here is perfect (60 degrees and hardly any humidity)

The car is a 12.4 at minimum...
Good power is only able to be displayed with good driving.
It takes someone genuinely eager to learn to drive better to show the humility you have shown. Take some advice here and apply it your next time out.
Hopefully the car is back together 100% after getting carjacked a few weeks back where the thief crashed your car.

Here is some refrence info.
60' 1.811
330 5.356
1/8 8.293
MPH 83.69
1000 10.850
1/4 12.998
MPH 104.56
Best of four passes on a 100% stock weight and stock engine right down to the OE paper filter no mods. Evo IX RS with a 9sec9 tune and all season radials. Low 50 air temp.
The slowest pass was 13.384 @ 101.87 the first pass on the car ever. Seat time is the best mod, we figured it would go .80's with a better launch and shifts a little lower in RPM.
Good Luck

I would send 9sec9 a log and he would send me a map. That was 100% stock and on 93 with a near full tank of gas. The car has never seen a dyno, and this was the first time down the track on the IX. Add 270 lbs of slow shifting fat old guy to the mix and I know 9sec9's tune is worth a ton.

Going faster at the track does not mean you make more HP.
Optimizing one's driving skill until its perfected, and then seeing gains in trapspeed while keeping the driving skills the same indicate additional power.
I remember the days when we assisted Tom and 9sec9 with their ecu reflash mapping. I believe I still have their mapping on my hard drive.
Those were the days... Long before we even owned a dynamometer.
We're certain Tom's got a lot of experience under their belt these days as shown with their track results.
With Compsciboi having the same ECU tuner as the worlds fastest stock ECU stock turbo cars of all time, he is in good hands despite his newbie driving skills.
