Nothing new to report ET wise, we were working on specific areas of the tune and came away with plenty of data. The best run of the day was 12.213@111.89 1.7 60' with a 15+ mph head wind. Our back half data showed we were making more power so we feel today was productive. The car was on a heavier fuel load due to the fact it was a bracket race and I had to have enough to go rounds. It wasn't pretty, but I went three rounds and got my race fix for now. For the next two weeks I will be busy with the Indy 500, NHRA guys, and 9sec9's cage and latest round of parts. We are going to use this time to evaluate and apply the data recorded today for the next outing. Thanks, Indy and 9sec9

Indy's back at the track after taking a couple of weeks off due to weather and track events. In the mean time I've made a few changes to the tune that are very interesting and promising. First pass, tires were set to 26 psi instead of 25 and it was more of a test run for the tune. Jim went 12.30 @ 111+ into a little head wind. Shifting was a little early and the 60' was only a 1.81. Clutch has possibly started to finally slip, but the ET was decent, considering the slow 60'. This first run shows that the car could easily go into the 11's with another 1.6 60'. Second pass, either his clutch immediately slipped or he smoldered the tires through all of 1st gear. No indication of slipping by looking at the run log, so I lowered the 2 step to 6250, made a slight change in timing and he's back out making a 3rd run. Second run was 112+ with a 1.91 60', which may be the clutch issue, or fried tires, but we'll find out soon.

Indy called me back and 3rd run was 12.17 @112+ with a 1.7 60'. Track hurried the racers and while I was looking at his log, he went ahead and made his pass. It netted a personal best of 12.01 @ 112.35, 60' was 1.633 which leaves some room for improvement. Congrats Jim on your personal best. All parts remain the same.
added: By the way, the tires must have been smoking, not the clutch. Still no indication of the clutch slipping. Good news.
Barometric pressure is a full point lower than when he made his 12.02 run, so considering the lower baro and warmer temps, the times are looking pretty good.

Thanks Tom, after looking at that log I could have done a few things that would have helped that last run. I have them written down and I'll take another look in the morning to see if I missed anything. Thanks again for the awesome tune, the improvements made a huge difference in how the car felt. I'm glad we made that last pass, and I can't wait till tomorrow. Indy

The new clutch will be installed this weekend. As far as the build goes, the 2 Guys 2 Mods thread in turbo, engines, drivetrains is being kept up to date. I'll be going to Indianapolis in about a week to pick up my car and maybe we'll get a night at the track while I'm there. I've modified all of Indy's maps to include Tephra's mods just incase future tunes need/want them. I've got another car to tune in Tulsa next week too. Hopefully this will verify our results on a different car.
