9 second monkey off my back!

I headed out to US 41's Street Car Chaos on Saturday to see how good the E85 tune is. I wanted to grab the slicks, but it was a last minute decision to go at 3pm, and I didn't want to fight the track for traction after the sun went down. The 1st pass was a 10.30 with a 1.97 clutch slipping 60 ft. The screwed up thing was they didn't print a mph on that slip. After seeing a low 10 second pass with such a crappy 60 ft I knew a 9 second pass on all season tires was in the bag. The next pass I ended up cutting a 1.64 60 ft. It was just enough to get my EVO into the 9's at 39psi of boost on all season tires using straight E85 from Road Ranger (no race gas mixed in). Thanks to APM Racing for all of there excellent work.

60 ft. 1.64
1/8 mile 6.60
mph 111.35
1/4 mile 9.99
mph 150.56

I can't wait to get it back to the track on the slicks. With a solid 60 ft a deep 9 is realistic. I know if I lauch it harder on the street tires I could go faster, but I don't want to risk wheel hop with broken driveline parts. Also there's a decent amount of power left in the little white devil. I still have the small BC 280 cams, The a/f's were in the low to mid 11's, and I'm pretty sure I have enough fuel for another 5 psi of boost. I'm planning on switching the cams out for a FP 4r intake and a FP 5r exhaust. Also some weight reduction will be performed before the Shootout. I still have working heat, full interior, and all of the door beams are still in.

On straight E85 there's at least another 5 mph left in it. On a race gas E85 mix I feel another 10 mph shouldn't be a problem. Right now at 39 psi I'm just at the beginning of the turbo's efficient boost range. It's efficient up to 50 psi, and will still make more power past that.

Thanks for the details it sounds like a very stout set-up.

I'm not too familiar w/ the BW turbos but by what you say and traps i take it that it's similar to a 40/42r then?
