there have been tons of people i have heard about shaving times off their 60'. some with stock frame turbos, and guys with full out builds running deep into the 9s...and most everything in between. what more do you need for proof?

A 1.6 isn't anything awesome.... Unless it can do consistant 1.5's MINIMUM why spend the money. The BFG drag tire can do that

Umm...I would say that 75% of a launch is dependent upon the driver. Some people might not be able to cut a 1.8 60' on street tires when others can cut 1.6 60' times all day. That said, the guy cutting 1.8' might be able to go 1.6 now and the guy cutting 1.6 might be low 1.5 or better.

75% ? That doesnt leave much room for:

Clutch
Suspension
Alignment
Weight

Pretty important stuff right there

And with all that stuff mentioned, I would still say 75% driver. If the clutch is upgraded for the power, it will hold. You can cut good 60's on stock suspension. If you have tons of power, then you'll be smart enough to upgrade the rest. Even if the car has 700hp, weighs 2500lb and has everything else setup perfect, the driver could dump the clutch too hard, ride the clutch too long, not launch at high enough rpm, etc. So yes, I would still say 75%. Personally, I think it takes a good driver to cut consistent 60' times in the Evo...it takes a great driver to cut low and consistent 60's.

Gotta agree on the "driver mod" for good 60' times. The best setup car in the world won't go anywhere without a good shoe behind the wheel. I cut mid 1.6's on zeix all seasons and the stock clutch all day, switched to an exedy twin hd and did nothing but tire spinning 1.8-1.9 even a 2.0 60's. It took 5-6 runs before i got the hang of it and was able to launch the car smooth again...i almost blamed the tires! There are a ton of BFG's out there being run, the Hoosier is a NEW tire so of course is gonna be knocked for lack of data and "results"...looks like it's coming along fine to me. I'll probably order a set soon.

^^^same here. I'll be ordering a set in the next couple of weeks! Pretty stoked. I've seen them in person. They are made of some pretty soft rubber!

Yeah. I almost bought them and then backed out because I had more important stuff to deal with at the time...which really sucks. They only had 6 passes and he was going to sale them to me for $600 shipped.

...unless you are talking about new ones. If you want new ones, either pm Indy Evo or go to 9sec9.com.
