If you are welding you don't need 6x6" plates you can build up a boxed portion or whatever it takes to mount the ends of the main hoop to the floor.

Sure hope that makes some sense since it seems kinda funny as i type

I like that setup. So for NHRA you absolutely must have a door bar? Either swing in or welded?

Hey patrick why didn't you get full swing outs.Even if it didnt swing out just easier to pull one bolt at the bottom.I mean top and bottom.I like the way swing out was welded up top on main hood so you dont have that nub.

yes you need the 6x6 plates either bolted or welded to car.thats where you weld tubing to.Its optional if you want to put another plate underneath to sandwich floor pan together.

Im not saying he doesn't know just letting you know.Ive had tons of drag cars.I learned a lot with my drag radial mustang where rules kept changing.I think theres going to be a big change this season since Dave Hance plays in the 6s with his drag radial mustang.Dave is the reason i sold it i can't keep up with him and others running 7.3s

I DD with cages/roll bars, but then again I'll drive around with my helmet on and a neck brace just to fk with people on the road... You'd be surprised how far people will drive behind you when you ride around on the street with your chute on. ;P

DD with a cage is all part of the fun.. As dangerous as I have heard they can be, all of the people I know personally who have gotten into accidents with them on the street have attested the additional structural support as reasons they even survived.
