Frankly, I think something is a bit fishy.

Because I can't understand how you run 9.3 ET on a stock frame turbo the very first pass, and then retire?

Makes no sense to me... I don't see how this conversation happens back at AWD headquarters...

"Should we run the car again and back-up or maybe even improve our time?"

"Nah, let's pull the motor and turbo and start over!"

"Yeah! Great idea!"

I don't get it.

Its Easy to Explain.. We had a race that weekend.. We SMASHED the previous records and we KNOW we are playing with fire with a STOCK CRANK 4g64 turning 8800 rpm so we opted to load up.. Why would i risk putting rods out the block when we accomplished what we came to do..

If something smells fishy Id have that thing looked at by a doctor...

BTW.. i dont see how you ran a time 2 years ago GRANNY SHIFTING and havent improved on it.. What did they say back at CRCAIN Headquarters " I already proved how much i suck @ Driving lets just pack up for the next 2 years and not make ourselves look any worse ".. Or " I already proved how stupid i am to overheat a magnus motor on purpose, better we dont run our car ever again "..

Mike

That was a bit rude and out of line... they ran the time and did an amazing job - who cares why they decided to start over, it seems to me they accomplished their goals...

Thanks Phil, Its normal for Crcain.. He follows me around trying to put a damper on each accomplishment.. It only shows me he cares..

I agree Phil, I really don't see how this makes any difference whatsoever.

The only guys that need to worry are the ones who can't afford the motor if it blows.

Some vendors spend money to test, 9 sec and 8 sec cars are not cheap. Only for some to copy and follow and criticize.

Bottom line, in racing things happen, parts break and we draw conclusions and move on.

None of this happens sitting behind a keyboard and nitpicking, there are also time constraints that must be considered.

Nobody is getting paid to go out and do this.

Sean

Mike
Actually Mike I ran 10.2 at 136 about 2 months ago but I only got to make one pass at the event. I didn't bother posting anything about it because I didn't back up the time God's honest truth. Some guys from Florida were down here for the event, maybe you know them, they brought a sick 300zx among other things.

I haven't been around drag racing for that many years, but the "back up your pass" credo always struck a chord with me. It's how things should be done and you know it.
