Shawna's Evo goes 9's
#55
Thanks again guys!
Honestly, The shifting is no different. The stock transmissions shift fine with a nice clutch and the right fluid in them. The reason we use a built trans is to avoid breaking them and costing tons of money down the road.
The 411 is pretty nice but really is not a good combo for a car with a taller tire on it. Highway driving is nice as it cruises in lower rpm's and street driving is pretty smooth too. As far as drag racing goes, this one is set up with a pretty close ratio using the 9 1st gear and 4rth. The tranny was originally built to go in ricer and get tested. It did and it was not very nice with the tall tires. Getting past the first 60 became a challenge. Either the car would bog down or it just had to light the tires up. It was just too tall of a roll out in 1st gear. This year we may try something different but still use the 411 FD with a smaller tire. We have a few ideas for this year but racing season is still a ways out.
Shawna's car is going a different route this year as we do not need two drag cars. We set two goals(600 whp and a 9 second pass with full interior, AC and full SSL package on a drag radial) with this car this year and we met them. Time to move on. Next season we are going to set the car up for road course and go do some learning.
