1st time at the Dragstrip

I've been meaning to take my car out drag racing for awhile now. Finally got out and was able to get a 12.731 @ 106.98. My car dyno'd on AMS' Dynojet at 325whp & 315tq.

My MPH was almost dead on the entire night, so I doubt there was much more there to gain. I got my 60' down to 1.888. I was hooking up on the launches pretty good but I'm wondering how much quicker I could go. I've been looking at others times and they all seem to vary so it's hard to get a frame of reference. So I'm curious what others think? I'll post up some video in the next day or two.

Not bad...What tires are you running? Try dropping the tire pressure down some, to around 20 psi or so. Get the 60 fts down to high 1.6s and you should see low 12s...Post an actual break down of the time slip and it would be easier for us to tell you where you can improve...

I still have my RE-01R's (245-45 R17). Will dropping the tire pressure help much since I wasn't having much wheel spin as it is?

60' 1.888
330 5.298
1/8 8.151
mph 84.77
1000 10.647
1/4 12.731
mph 106.98

Sounds good for your first time out. Just work on getting you 60 ft times down a bit and you will be right where you should be.

Are you going off the 2-step? If you're not getting much spin, then try launching at a higher RPM. If you start to get spin, lower the tire pressure.

Going off the 2-step will actually build boost so you can shoot out of the hole. Although if you are on the stock clutch, you probably shouldn't go off the 2-step more than 2-3 times per night as it takes a toll on the clutch. Any launching for that matter....

I did both the 2 step and revving it between 4500-5500. Both seemed to be about the same. I get the slightest amount of spin. I think it was too sticky and me not having enough torque to really spin the wheels.

I have the Exedy Twin HD clutch (which I love BTW). So it's handling the abuse. Though now I'm worried that other drivetrain components are going to suffer because of it. Though I rarely launch my car or shift hard, is re anything critical that I should change/upgrade so I don't break something??

here's some video that Tony "Kimsan808" threw together for me. Definitely bogged the first 13 sec run.
