For the price that is a nice harness bar, I actually ran the same one in my car for a while. I had it powder coated gloss black. With it being 3 solid pieces like that it definitely helped stiffen the chassis for autoX events, even though that isn't what you are worried about, haha. Only complaint I had is it doesn't come with any bolts/washers for install so you have to use all the OEM stuff which is just barely long enough to use...

ok perfect, i was going to get longer bolts so then i just bolt the seat belt and the bar aswel since i won't be buying harness belts.. any pics of it dude?

I have a solution for you and not drag racing, come to the DSM/EVO Shootout!!
The NHRA rule has been 11.49 for years. IHRA was and I believe still is 11.99.
I agree the rules are nuts. I'll go one further, if a car is equipped with driver side functional air bag it should be even higher. If the car has drivers side front and side functional air bags raise it even more.
Put a provision in for a good harness bar and quality seats like the EVO has too.
Roll bars/cages don't belong in street cars.
The rules are outdated and unfortunately controlled by sponsors of the NHRA/IHRA who put money into the series. Seat belt's that expire in two years, yeah **** that. Helmets that expire in 5 years, **** that too. It all ticks me off to no end.
Also as a side note, a track owner has it at his discretion to how he enforces rules at NON NHRA/IHRA sanctioned events.

Also something else to prove the argument about cars changing and the rules should. Check out this video:

Thank you! I skimmed through the rest of the thread after posting. As for the Ebay harness bar, well it's certainly cheap enough. Not near the quality of ours, not quickly removed and heavier. Ours costs more because it's worth more, quality costs. Maybe I can just fire all my guys and job out all our products to some Chinese kid

It is a big price different but there is a big difference in the bars. Even the Sparco bar is WAY off in quality from ours. Ours is masterfully TIG welded, powder coated in a choice of colors, uses aircraft quick release pins, all chrome moly, the slip joint at the end is hollowed out to keep the weight down. There was a lot of thought and detail that went into it. Sorry for getting this off topic. Just explaining the difference in a $111 imported Chinese bar and a quality Made in the USA piece. I also notice the tubing that runs down to the floor in the Chinese bar looks awfully small...not a lot of support there. It may just be the picture.
Anyway, I think for any harness bar to help you get by at the drag strip a few other things are important too. Put a set of harnesses in there, it really adds to the detail and makes it seem more like a cage. Also, some nice darker window tint in the rear helps a ton!

pete, heres an idea... put a 6 point in it. all you do is race the car anyway, and i doubt you will ever get rid of it. a 6 point and a jacket and LVD will never harass you until you are running 9.99 or quicker.

9.99 or trap more than 135mph... then you need the 8pt.
I already trap 130 prior to making more power & reducing weight. I'll hit 135mph next time out and I'll be held to an exceptionally high standard for safety equipment. A 6 point cage is one thing... a halo and 8 pt cage through your dash is a whole different one.
