Hoosier QTP 26x9.5-16 stock tranny MPH question

I am running a stock evo 8 tranny on my set up in my sig. I was wondering what MPH should I see at the drag strip (1/4 & 1/8) with the hoosier's? Will 4th run out in the 1/4? I should gain some MPH up top with a 26" vs a stock tire set up. Right?

The car will accelerate slower with the taller slicks.
For reference I cross through the traps at 144-145mph at 8750rpm on the QTP's.

With my rota slipstreams with a 245/40/17 my tire height is like 24.x I know first gear just spins like crazy. That's why I want a taller tire. One so it don't spin as bad in first gear and second for a higher MPH in forth gear.

I already have some RX7 rims and spacers. Just need to order some QTP's. Just wanted to know if I will run out of gear or not in 4th crossing the traps in the 1/4 mile.

I have the MT 26x10.5x16 on my car with v6 mustang wheels. The gearing calc show me at 140ish mph at 8500 with stock 8 tranny. But from just tire growth at that speed i went 141 mph at 8200rpm on my log. So using the calc with that info, mine should go 144-145 at 8500rpm factoring in tire growth.

For the drag strip i dont see why you cant raise your rev limiter to 8700. That engine should be able to handle that no problem seeing at it only see's 8000rpm+ for a few seconds at the most at a time.

It all depends on how far you are spinning the motor to. I'm on a stroker and my rev limiter is set at 8900rpm, and cross through at 145mph at around 8700-8800rpm with the qtp's. 03 evo trans. Stock final drive.

Taller tire won't really help much in the traction department, but since you are going from a street tire to a slick, that's a different story. Taller tire will put more load on the car when launching, so it will spool a bit quicker out of the gate and hit the tires a tad harder. The qtp's should work well for your combo though. good luck man!

Interesting chart, where did you get that? It doesn't make sense to me since I cross through the trap right at 8700rpm and trap 144-145mph on hoosiers, according to your chart you posted, 8700rpm would be 149mph. I'm not even close to that..

You will lose a little bit of MPH due to wheel spin in first gear at the start of the 1/4mile. Thats the only thing I could think of why you are losing that MPH.

The chart was rendered from a gear ratio calculator that is mechanically 100% correct. Of course at a drag strip there are factors.

I only have a 2.0. When I meant same setup, I meant wheel/tire setup. Sorry
