Unfortunately, this is the prevailing mindset of most dragstrips in the country. If you think there might be hate for Evos, just see what comes out of their mouths when you drive a Honda anything. At least the Evo gets gruding respect from the American Muscle crowd. Hondas are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to drag racing. Ever notice too how Rich Christensen of Pinks usually never has anything that is Japanese?

The good thing is that Evos get more respect in autocrossing and road racing and we know how the rally crowd feels about the car. Ever seen a new Challenger slithering around a road course? Ain't pretty. It is too bad that people just can't appreciate all cars for what they are. If they perform well, then there should be respect there.

My 60ft on that run was a 1.55. Would have been better if I hadn't tripped the light off the start (if you look closely you can see that my tires rolled about a foot before I hooked). Imports will always be the antithesis of the drag strip until all of the V8-obsessed, baby-boomers die off.

Thanks, and no, I use a crappy turbosmart dual port bov. Driveability sucks on it, but it holds boost no problem.

Nice run, and that announcer was way off in his "guessing" that the Cobalt would win that race lol.

This announcer has seen my car run multiple times and it was the third race against that same Cobalt in the same night...I don't think it is in his being to bet against America .

Thanks guys, but my runs will get better. Just need the temps to drop and for me to not accidentally trip the beam prior to my launches. As long as the daily (my Evo) doesn't break, i'll be looking forward to November.
