Good friend of mine went 9.95@140mph this weekend
Haven't posted here in awhile but thought I would swing by and share what my buddy and good customer of mine ran over the weekend.
The car is a 2003 evo 8, here is the mod list, or list that matters.
High compression 2.0L (10:1)
arias pistons
Manley turbo tuff rods
HTA 3586r with the 5 bolt housing .82 ar housing @35-36lbs
shearer fab exhaust manifold
JMfab 4" thick FMIC
JMfab street version intake manifold
AMS upper and lower I/C pipes
tial 38mm gate
tial bov
ported and flow benched head
kiggly beehive springs
kiggly oil regulator
kelford 280 intake and kelford 288 exhaust cams
AEM EMS tuned by JMtuning
FIC 2150cc
dual walbros
exedy tripple
shep racing ultimate ratio transmission
shep racing tcase
TRE rear diff
full 3" turbo back with muffler
MSD DIS II
300M coil on plug
Boomba throttle body
E85 straight from the pump
car weighed in at 3450lbs with driver, it's a full weight, full interior street car with A/C and a full stereo system.
Anyway, this was his 1st and only full pass he made since the track booted him for no roll cage, so we were unable to make another pass to clean up the slight bog and the issues in 4th gear going flat on power, the lifters for some reason decided to cause issues through out 4th gear so it went flat on power and dropped MPH on him. We are looking into it now, but I suspect the valve stem height is not correct and the lifters bottomed out from the high RPM and high oil pressures. After this pass we parked the car and let it cool down, fired it back up and the lifters were clacking like hell! After a couple of minutes they pumped back up and we loaded the car up and drove home with 4 people in the car lol. Dunno why the lifters did that but we are for sure looking into it.
With the slight bog off the line and lifter issues fixed I think the car has a 9.50 pass in it. It did go 114mph in just the 1/8th mile but only 140mph on the big end.
Break down of the slip
60ft. 1.57
330ft. 4.313
1/8th 6.508
mph 114.46
1000ft. 8.384
1/4 9.957
MPH 140.71

lol I know! I keep telling him we need to get weight out of it, but he refuses to take anything out of it, he is 100% stuck on being full weight and keeping his A/C and everything haha

Hoosier QTP 26" DOT slicks mounted on RX7 FD wheels.
And thanks everyone for the kind words! We hope to get it back out to another track to get atleast one more pass in before the season is over. We really want that 9.50 pass.

We have no clue, never been on the dyno, we street tuned it. Fuel consumption under wot and 35-37lbs at 11.8-12.0 A/F on e85 we are at 76% duty cycle on the 2150cc injectors, so the power is definitely up there for sure.
