ticking or popping sound when taking off from a stop with the wheel turned

So I started to notice this when I am making a left or right turn with the wheel turned from a stop. The sound is only present until i get to about 10 mph or when the wheel is straitened out, and the sound is cyclical, like it occurs once every rotation of the drive shaft or axle. There is no whine or anything which leads me to believe the problem is not the transfer case. I am thinking CV joint, but the car only has 18k miles and it is bone stock. I would like to figure out what the problem is before I take it to the dealership for warranty work, if it is necessary. Thanks in advance.

Its your cv joints, check the boot and see if it is ripped. You could have 100 miles on the car and if the boot is ripped and the grease comes out and then stuff gets in there say bubbye cv joint. GL

Very weird. I just noticed this problem 2 days ago, and I also just have over 18k miles on the car. I need to go get it checked out. Would it be best to take it to the dealer for warranty work or to a shop that works on evos like AWD Motorsports?

Your car is dropped so the chances of you getting it covered via dealer is slim to none IMO. If you can afford to take anything that they can relate to the axles then take it to the dealer that would be your best bet.

But if you cant then take it to Mike.

1st off though read what I wrote ^^ I would crawl under there and check the cv boots if they are messed up then thats the problem. I had the same exact problem when I had acuras and hondas, same noise and everything and it was ALWAYS the cv's.

I will be checking under my car today to look at the cv boots for tears, and if that is not the problem then i will be taking it to the dealer for warranty work on the transfer case
