Driving in reverse
When backing up slowly is it ok to have my foot on the clutch pedal a little bit while applying gas? I notice when I apply gas and slowly release the clutch until its fully engaged the car wants to back up faster and it jerks a little which I don't want.

you should be okay, if you're just backin up a little bit. You won't burn out you clutch or anything. I dont think i ever even have my clutch fully depressed... do you need to go that fast in reverse???

ok so its ok to have the clutch grab a little as long as its not fully depressed(which I never do anyway) when reversing. Yeah I would never want to go fast in reverse.

Reverse gear is sweet! It accelerates just like 1st gear.. but backwards lol.. I only tried it out once in an empty parking lot.. it goes like 30 lol. Feels like 2 Fast 2 Furious when he was backwards on the highway. haha.
No, usually I just feather it in reverse or idle..

Well, my car isn't AWD, and I actually haven't put in reverse beyond moving 5' in some time, but you should be ok with a little feathering as long as you're not putting any real load on it. I think the only serious danger (for Evo drivers especially) comes when you put the driveline under load and feather the clutch. At least that's what I've gathered from reading entirely too many "my clutch failed at 2 miles wtfz0rz?!!!!" threads. Anyway, for the purposes of parking and unparking there really aren't many other options. Oddly enough though I've never tried to idle reverse. Knowing me I'd just stall the car for 20 minutes, get pissed, and never do it again.

If you slip the clutch while backing up, try not to apply too much throttle or you can burn the clutch pretty good. Usually when I'm backing up slowly, I do a couple of little "mini" clutch drops (like release to 20-30% a couple times.) You can slip it for a long time without any danger of burning up your clutch if you release with little or no throttle tho (just do it slowly to not kill the car.)

they use to do some lambo testings in reverse for their topspeed tests.
I usually try not to use the reverse as much as possible.
but when I do, i engage at idle, then just tappy tappy tappy.

hey most cars have a reverse that is about the same as it's second gear so your evo sould top out about 60+mph in reverse and es,ls,oz autos should redline about 55-60 so have fun i-ve put my es up to 50 and then fliped around like paul walker in 2f2f that was fun!

wait, wouldn't letting the clutch out in reverse be the same as downshifting without rev matching over the point where the clutch would be grabbing backwards? I don't think it would make a huge difference anyways, as long as you don't do reverse burnouts or clutch dumps..
