Think about this guys, we are talking about launching a 3300lb car like its been shot out of a cannon. To get all that mass going you need to have a ton of traction and the car has that in spades. Sadly you put all that power down in a huge hurry and the weak link WILL show up. On the stock EVO its the clutch.
So why is the clutch so weak? Easy, it's because americans can't drive. This is not to say you all suck but facts are that very few americans can even drive a standard let alone one with a real stiff instant on clutch. If they put in a clutch that could hold the power it would make the car difficult to drive and sell so they don't.
To these ends I say roast your clutch. Burn it up. Eat it for breakfast and enjoy. Then after you have put in a real piece that will stand up to the performance of the rest of the car. Keep busting up parts and replace them with versions that will not fail and enjoy.
Yes, this can be expensive and it can be a pain as working on your car is not as fun as driving it not to mention your car will be less easy to drive on the road but hey... its all a trade off right?
In short pick your poison. If you want a 3300lb car to run 4sec 0-60 you are gonna go through parts. If you fix the issue it will cost you and cause other problems.
Enjoy.

I beg to differ. I enjoy both. Whats the hardest is trying to explain it to your wife, trying to explain to her why you can't just have a car like hers that is low maintanence and just runs..... They just don't understand the addiction I guess.
