Sub 10 sec car (major sponsorship) w/ auto tranny has tons of money dumped into it. Most people can't even justify to dump that money into tranny.
When big money is on the line like NHRA, auto tranny can never really misshift. If you have manual and misshift 4th gear into 2nd on a +1000 HP car . . . someone will die from an explosion, blown apart tranny or other parts, or freak rollover on the track.

one question. this may sound retarded. but please bear with me, im a noob.
when drag racing an auto, starting at 1 and working your way up. Do you have to take your foot off the gas when shifting gears?
