Question E-Brakes Hand Brakes

is there a way to make your e-brake turn into an actual handbrake? you can use it as a hand brake but you have to push in the stupid button that locks. im just trying to figure out if there is a way to disengage the button, and if you do that is it possible to put it back in so you can pass safety inspections? im havin a hell of time swinging my car around superfast and taking off fast because i cant pull and unlock and shift all at the same time.

first of all, i hope you like changing your tires because if you use the ebrake that often you are going to wear a flat cut in them pretty quickly. if you practice with the ebrake it's really not that hard to put it down with the button. but if you really want to take corners well, you should try heel-toe method. it's much better for your car and works more effectively. plus it doesn't lock up your tires like ebrake. i use to use the ebrake all the time and it wasn't easy explaining to my mother why the tires looked like someone had taken a saw to them.

i really dont do it that offen to really wear the tires... but im going to start rallying my justy in the dirt. i just want to make it so i can pull up on it to lock the tires long enough to swing the back around without the brake locking... the reason for my locking problem is the brake is hard to unlock... sometimes it takes 2 hands to get it to go back down.

I might be way out in left field with this suggestion, but since the Lancers (except the LS) don't have ABS, couldn't you just lock the tires with the foot brake? And the heel-toe method would keep you on the gas if you needed it. Not that I've tried this, or even rally racing, but I think that would be just as effective.

OOOPS! Now I read your thread completely and saw you weren't talking about driving a Lancer, so I have no idea about how a Subaru drives.
