Results: Before and After 272/272 HKS cams

hey

this is the dyno charts before the cams(272/272)

Helix T-Back w. test Pipe
Buschur Intake(cone only)
Hallman MBC(@21psi)
walbro pump
custom tune..
304WHP

after, w. HKS 272/272 Gears = -4/-1
custom tune
boost was a little higher @21-22psi
336WHP

its not even the max power i'm pointing out here...its the way it gain in the mid-range and how the power level itself uptop unlike the stock cams..

Another good tune by AL..Thanks man..

Hmm, first pull in July, second pull in November. A temp change like that affects my race car by about 30 HP. I hope you realize that you did not gain 30 HP from just cams. Half of that was cooler air.

Evotexas: go check ot some of Noize's dyno graphs from his addition of cams as cam gears. his where all done on a DD dyno. If I'm not mistaken he actually made more power with the cam gears then the cams. it was like a 15-20whp with the cams and 20-25whp with the Cam gears. this was also tuned with an Xede. So, they're pretty acurate figures.

I also have cams. I know what they give for gains. I also do not have cam gears because they do not do much more than shift the powerband. I have seen where Noize says he gained a bunch of power with cam gears and you know what I think? I think his timing was way off and it got fixed when he did the gears. That doesn't seem to be uncommon with the Xede setups around here either. How could Noize be the only person in the world to gain that much with just cam gears? Common sense says no.

I might be wrong, but I think he might have actually done cam gears first and then the cams next. his car started out as just a normal stage 1. the stage 1, consist of tb exhaust, cam gears, and the Xede... trust me. I'm not trying to start anything. Just putting my 0.02 cent in.

I know man it's cool. I just really think something was wrong with his timing or car first. Noize has the only car in the world that picked up more than 5-10 HP with cam gears. Hardly something I would consider valid or repeatable when buying parts. Just my 2.
