Dynoflash + S-AFC

I was wondering if you think that adding the AFC to the Flashed ECU is a good idea for an extra 8-12whp. I see on BR Dynos that the flash makes about 10whp LESS than on the AFC, however the torque on the Reflash is 10x better.

I have a big question mark for what mod to do next... intercooler, throttlebody? For $275+tuning you think an extra 10HP is attainable?

Im still really iffy about hacking up the car with that though. Also, maybe Im just dont know enough about it, but isnt the alcohol more like nitrous in a way? I mean you can RUN OUT and only use it certain times? Can u have one flash for without alcohol and one with?

Yes, it's up to you to keep the tank full, and running out depends on how early and how often you are spraying. You also need to test it and keep an eye on the lights to ensure proper functionality. It's more work but the gains are worth it IMO. It's not like nitrous in it's side effects, it helps keep the intake cool (safer) and actually keeps the cylinders clean. I plan to use it with an afc on top of my flash, that way if I sell the car, I can remove the system and the afc, or zero it out.

How is the installation of the kit - isnt hacking required, and how expensive is the alcohol to put inside it? Im guessing I cant use the Majorski Vodka I have in my room.

I've heard of people using winshield washer fluid. not sure if that's preferred though.

depends on your definition of hacking, if you mean drilling a whole and tapping into the upper IC pipe, and then running wires through the firewall then yes.

I think the alky goes for like around $8/gal. I plan to use 50% alky and 50% distilled water, should last a few weeks I think.

Yeah I just dont see myself putting in the alcy injection.

I really like the plan of having my max power all the time and not worrying about refilling, like nitrous. I know its much different but same concept.

Looks like u are making great power for 93 octane. Why change anything.

Because I'm greddy.

Id like 370+whp on pump. I know I can get 400+whp on 93 with a turbo upgrade but thats near $4000-6000 with injectors, bigger IC, etc. I was just hoping I could squeeze an extra 30whp with some other bolts on with the stock turbo, minus standalone.

I think alcohol injection would be the way to go. I am personally at about the same point you are, but will add an intercooler. But I would like to retain the stock turbo/spoolup and get as much power out of it as I can (without standalone).

This has been covered many times. You will want to zero out all the AFC settings for the flash. Then use the AFC to fine tune as necessary or to tune for race gas.

Good luck!
