does disconnecting the battery get rid of the codes? I will put my old filter in and let it get the P0134 code and then let the dealership fix it i guess.?

anyone have a cheap easy way to fix the P0134 code? I have been getting horrible gas mileage which seems to go with that code. I have stock exhaust (stock everything but HKS drop in filter and Dynoflash mail in).

thanks

ya, i have two codes.... if i can clear the "lean" code and put in my stock filter, that should take care of that one..... then the car will automatically put the "service engine soon" light on due to my 02 sensor...... I can then either take it to the dealer (about 180 miles of rounddtrip driving) or try to fix it myself.??

uh oh. I believe i had that code combo. Your front 02 sensor needs replacing if your getting the system to lean code/front o2 sensor no activity detected( or any variant) .. if you search for some of my old posts I had a write up about it.. the car is probably running rich as hell. When the front 02 sensor goes out the car will keep trying to reach stoic becuase it believes its running to lean. I would fix this right away.. it will definatelty foul your plugs quickly not to mention losing maybe 30-40whp. Mine went out at 45K. You can get a new one at lancershop for 240.

You guys ever use the search button? Just double checked and its the same problem i had.. order a new front 02 sensor, dont bother clearning the codes they will come back in 5 minutes and your car will still be jacked up untill you put the new sensor in.

LOL Hahahaha he said "warranty" hehehe

Yeah if you are stock it should be covered.. The dealer will not care about a drop in filter.. What year is your car?? 2003 the dealer cannot see the DynoFlash no need to flash back to stock

Ya, i have a 2003.

I put the original filter back in. The check engine light has been on intermitently since before i put the HKS filter in anyway..... it is way too far to the dealer so I just ignored it. doh!

So far they haven't voided my warranty even though my name & picture of the Evo was in the local Porsche Club newletter for kicking their asses at Auto-x.

thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a bad 02 sensor which after some time will cause egg-like smell. This constant fuel dumping will destroy a cat also. A clogged cat will keep you from revving too high also.

i called the dealer and they are going to have an 02 sensor ready on Friday.... but we didn't discuss a Cat.... hopefully my cat is okay.??

the "service engine" light has been off and on for about 2-3 months now, so i would guess it needs a new cat too....
