dynoflash - check engine light 1 year later...

Dealer says they will check all kinds of **** "which mitsu requires for warranty work". My car's exhaust has been smelly and it has almost stalled a few times lately...very rough idle...and the car seems to choke at 6000rpm....

No other mods other than dynoflash, which was done well over a year ago...

Should I "un-dynoflash" first, then go to dealer? I have already tried unplugging the battery which didn't solve the problem....

Can the dealer figure out the Dynoflash and void my warranty?

Go to auto zone first and have them read the code you have - report back - thanks

where would i find out what code? the dealer is 40 freaking miles from my house... so my choice is to go there and drop it off, or not go there...... I won't have time to wait around for it.

No, i haven't changed my plugs... the car has 20k miles on it.

Definately change your plugs... If you can't find someone to pull the code, go to sears and buy a OBD-II code reader for 100 bucks and return it after you're done. Seriously they will take it back. If they give you any trouble, just tell them it doesn't work with your car.

i will ask Pepboys (1 mile from my house) to pull the code. What spark plugs do most people run in their Evo's? (all stock except for dynoflash)?

thanks

You have a lot of homework to do before you consider the dealer.

1- First thing first pull that code using OBD2 reader. You can get the tool from AutoZone for free and then Wright the codes and the description on a paper. Bring the codes here and we will help you more (search about the codes as well)

2- Change your spark plugs with NGKs copper head.

3- Ask yourself when the car started to behave like this and what is so different? Did someone drive it beside you? Did you do simple things like even change oil? Did you break a sensor by mistake? Anything that you can think of can help us help you better.

4- Try not to drive it (hope you have a beater) until you find what’s going on.

5- what kind of gas are you using? Did you add octane booster lately?

Good luck

This guy needs help! But I dought it has anything to do with the dynoflash.
Check the code I bet it is either your plugs or an O2 sensor.
Good luck

Okay..finally made it to autozone.... code P0134 is in there twice... "02 sensor"..(warranty work right?)... and....

P0171 - fuel delivery - too lean bank 1. I did (which I forgot) get an HKS panel filter about 2 months ago. I have noticed a couple of times when at top speed in maybe 2-3 gear it seems to weeze from 6000-7000rpm.... maybe only on really not days???

how do I get rid of the P0171 code before I take it in? I guess I should put my stock filter back in. Maybe get a reflash after I take it in for the p0134 and have the flash accomidate that HKS filter

Let me know what to do if you know.

thanks

O ya... i did change the plugs just for fun.

If i am not mistaken, and Al can correct me for this, you need a retune for the intake, thats why your getting the P0171 code
