I have found that on the very weak 91 octane **** gas that exists in Califonia that dyno testing is next to useless for determination of the actual road driven knock threshold. Simply put the gas is so weak that the car needs to be set fairly close to the threshold of knock activity of you expect to make any power. The best place to set an accurate assesment of where the car starts to knock is in the SAME identical conditions as the vehicle is driven in.

If you get dyno tuned, it is very likely that the tune will not be close enough to real world conditions to be meaningful.

Once I have driven the car on the road for several pulls and see that the ecu is not pulling timing and the tune is on the money that is as close to perfect as you can get - NOT an approximation.

My goal in 91 octane tuning is to make the car as smooth, and safe as possible not to obtain peak dyno numbers.

The location I have chosen for tuning affords a wide range of varied terrain - uphill - flat and down hill to test the car under a whole range of real world conditions.

Finally, I have tuned over 2,000 evos on dynos, roads and tracks. My base maps are very close alrady and highly refined. On 91 octane most of the tuning involves tailoring the maps to maximize power under the knock threshold which again is best measured with a true to life accurate loading.

Its best to send a deposit and set a specific time which I would do at the start of one of the other tuning sessions - (On the hour)
