That's the boost dropping to 22psi I believe. I'm hoping for a few more ponies after the dual stage. My timing has been chit since I dropped in the 280's.
bcuz stock turbos (8's & 9's) are out of their efficiency range over 25 PSI (just blowing hot air) & the stock ignition system misfires over 27PSI hence why the timing is retarding on the topend. u need an ignition amp & at least 20 degrees of timing thru 3-5 gears on the top. u also need to adjust your wastegate to hold more boost as it's set from the factory to falloff as 1 of the many "failsafes" to prevent blown motors. i have the turnbuckles on the W/G's of both my EVO's turned all the way down for a longer sustained period of boost. u can go that route, pick up a WG from Garage HRS, or buy the Forge unit.

i spike the '03 to 27PSI & tapers to 23 by redline (104 octane).
i spike the '05 to 21.5 & tapers to 20 by redline (91 octane).

TTP spike the stock turbo to 34.5psi and run 11.2@123MPH!! Stock ignition is ok for stock turbo. You don't need to worry about it unless you have a GT35R!!
