i bet you coulda launched the subbie without dumping from redline and breaking it... i thought everyone knew how to launch without launch control isnt that where driving started? im only 24 grew up with all the easy launch control stuff, but i still driving without it, and launching the car with skill not the ECU.

the videos are cool tho. GJ al. you made the evo keep up pretty good

Found another in this series of your videos:

Wrx vs Evo Championship of El Salvador

"I'm very lucky because I have a Subaru and an Evo, so i can enjoy both...depends on my mood...If I want a car that's going to blow up every time, then I take the Evo...If I want a car I can enjoy every day, then I take the Subaru. They blow up..."

I probably have more experience at launching drag awd cars than most

The STI would not launch without holding it on a rev limit or two step and building boost

That is why we needed to hold it on the rev limiter

The owner and I tried about 10 times the day before and it did not work once

You have to remember that with a Gt40 R sti when you are building boost at the line you are leaving the line with nearly 600 TQ so those stock half shafts are going to yield

You stated in your video that the Standalone they are using is great! Where can buy one?

It is the Hydra Ecu and I sell them

Its a very smloth running and affordable engine management solution - however you need to have access to a qualified Hydra tuner as it is very hard to tune

i know this is old, not trying to cause problems on a old post, but your guys first attempt at launching it after hearing from the guy he couldnt launch it, was your redline attempt. i would have at least tried, and im sure i could have done a couple decent launches without breaking the car on the first try. thats all.

i just didnt understand why you didnt try something realistic. sure the guy said go ahead and break it, but i think it would have been more fun to actually try to launch the car then knowly do a redline dump when we all know what the outcome was going to be. whats wrong with trying 6-6,500 slipping the clutch? it had a strong one.

anyways im done. you broke it, it was a savage car. the guy didnt care and he has lots of money so im sure the car has been fixed and broken 10 times since. keep up with the cool vids al.
