Thumbs up to the HKS Twin Fire
I dropped off my car last wednesday so that Al could use the UTEC on my car, test it out, and see how the EVO version is.
A day earlier, I was busy all day driving around and my charge pipe kept on blowing off due to the weak stock clamps. I didnt have a 10mm socket to get the clamp real tight, rather I had a screwdriver which made it tight enough to get it on for a bit. I wanted to get the 10mm, but I was stuck in NYC(I live 20 minutes outside of the city) running around. After the third time the charge pipe blew off, I was on the parkway, and had to have a cop follow me off the exit because I could barely move. My back bumper was black from running so rich.
I was able to get it on good enough to get home, and get it real tight. Went for a test drive, and my evo seemed to run fine. Later on I would realize that runnin so rich helped to greatly shorten the life of my NGK BPR7es plugs which I recently put in.
So the next day, I take my car to Al. He has it for a few days, and the night before I pick up my car, he brings to my attention the fact that my car was misfiring under WOT, and that he tried the HKS Twin Fire, and was impressed by the results.
The day I go to pick up my car, he shows me the misfire(without the HKS Twin Fire hooked up), and it was pretty obvious @ WOT. Then we pull over, and he hooks up the Twin Fire, which took literally two minutes to hook up. We then go for a few WOT pulls, and even with the fouled plugs, the car pulled oh-so-smoothly all the way to redline from 2nd through 4th gear.
I can only imagine its performance when the plugs are running fresh and strong.
I for one plan on getting the Twin Fire ASAP. I was VERY impressed.
