I think thats is alright just as long as you change the filter every 3K miles... its says so on the filter element plastic wrapping... (in japanese)

Al- where do you think the HKS RS intake kit get's it's primary gain over the drop in filter? Is it the factory airbox to turbo tube is crap? Or is it the tube is crap & air box size is to small??? Could you share your wisdom please.

Just a thought though....

Cheers
I am extremely confident that 99% of tuner shops dont have fans big enough to remotely replicate the air moving across your car at any speed, let alone under the car extracting air through the wheel wells, engine compartment etc.

To get a real life simulation, you would need instrumented drive shafts (i.e. torque sensors) to evaluate "real everyday driving situations".

These shops & dyno's are very good tools only in the hands of very good tuners.

So what about the comparison to the K & N Typhoon too the RS. I know RS is better than the Drop in but what about the K & N Typhoon where it has a similar induction pipe and large cone?

There is a thread on my section here about the Typhoon - avoid it at any cost

Meaning....It isn't true about the Typhoon.... it is just as good as RNR Buschur and all that stuff.

That is a decent intake also - although I prefer the HKS as it has shown that it and the Buschur make the most power on the dyno

As far as the typhoon goes - they dont work properly in some cases so i do not recomend that one at all - there is a thread on that subject in this section of teh forum

Al if you had to pick between the two which would you get HKS or Bushur with maf pipe since there almost the same price,I was a bit concerned about the filtering quality of the HKS.

HKS $300 Buschur $280

Which do you have more maps for

thx

Hey AL,

Wat do u think of the Apexi Dual Power Cone air filter? I have one...now with your dyno result with the RS i might switch over camp..but if wat im having now is alrite I might just save up for one of your flashes....

Thanks..

W esee huge gains from the HKS RS kit and also from the Buschur intake combined with suction tube

Also to a lesser extent the cusco intake tube is very good

THE APS intake is seriously powerful - but requires a full custom tune b/c of the way it significantly effects the air flow signal

If you are planning on doing the whole Bucshur upgrade path then obviosuly you will need his filter

Otherwise - both are good

It seems like a decent intake - not as good in power as the HKS
