I left late and ended up missing 4th and still ran a 12.3 @111. Sucks. It was an awesome day, lots of sweet cars. I will post slips later.

I want to say thank you to the www.evo-ny.com and www.sqc-ny.com for representing hard on the 1st annual Evo vs. WRX shootout. Becuase of the amazing turn out - there is already plans to have a 2nd annual shootout. Ali from ESX just called me and he is talking about coming out next year to show us guys a taste of revenge !
This event was a dream that I have had for a long time and I am super happy that the folks at Raceway park decided to give it a chane. Raceway park did a really amazing job of runningt this event - every detail down the the parking areas was carefully planned and executed and it all showed as the event unfolded flawlessly.
We had a LOT of great sponsors this year who gladly kicked in LOTS of amaizng prizes. I ask you all to support and patronize these sponsors through the year.
There is no doubt that today at least the Evo was the undisputed king of the track. The STI's need a lot of tuning development as they are all slower than my old WRX I had 3 years ago. There was one WRX wagon that was bad *** - 11.5 - but otherwise it seems they need to build more power.
I was especially honored that Paul was able to win the heads up class running the custom tuned Dyno Flash, and also that Mike was able to get into the finals in the bracket class with the Dyno Flash. To see my customers winning races makes me even more happy than when I win a race.
As for me, I busted my oil pump yesterday afternoon (after 22,000 miles and
9,000 rpms all the time it just let go) and my engine was basically wiped out. Faced with the sad reality of missing out on the chance to run a race I have been waiting for for a long time I decided to try and patch together my engine as good as I could to get me to the race. I honestly expected it would explode like a grenade on the first pass. In order to make the show I spend 14 hours straight working on my car basically all night - finished at 8:30 a.m. and drove to the track. I was so tired that I installed the boost controller in back wards and ran only a 13. something on the first pass at 8 psi of boost. Its amazing, I actually lost in the quarter finals to a very slow STI becuase I was playing with my lap top so much in the staging lanes that my mini battery lost power and the car would not start! Talk about frustration! I was basically taking it easy all day to try and make it into the final and did not post any really impresive times, my best was a 11.0 at 133 mph I think
This event was without a doubt the most fun I have had in a long, long time.
To see so many Evos and WRX's all together was just amaizng.
It was good to meet so many members from the board here and see so many Evo friends all in one place.
Special recognition to Turbo Tricks for running the quickest time of the day with a 10.4 and also to CRAZY JOE drag racing for his first time who cut a near perfect tree to win the best reaction time

Boost solutions did not run 11sec. THey can reveal what they ran. Lets jsut say they had HUGE lag and something broke. but I give them mad props for making the trek from atlanta. Thanx Al and all the other sponsors. It was a very sucessful event. Looking forward for next year and hopefuly a track event.
EVO-ny took first in Heads up and 2nd in Bracket racing. Both running Dynoflash.
Paul also took home the "best looking" EVO. Congrats.

Haha, thanks Al, but Mike beat my RT in the finals, he laid a 0.020 RT. There goes my gas money.
I'm used to open track road course stuff and it was my first drag racing event and I had a great time running all day and making it to the semifinals in bracket by pure dumb luck.
I'll be back, absolutely. A lot of fun and a great bunch of guys to run with.
Thanks for bringing it together, Al, we all appreciate your hard work. And congrats to Paul for winning heads up! Hmm, where's my 50 shot...
