E-85 recommendations

Alright after some research I am ready to make the switch to E-85. It is readily available in my area and many people are having great results. My mods are below.

My plan would be to run the stock turbo for a while and eventually switch to either a 20glt or hta35r. I would probably swith to an AEM EMS if I went the hta35r route. However I would stick with a flash on a 20glt. I know I would need a wideband(which would you guys recommend, preference with ecuflash/mitsulogger?), 1,000cc injectors(can/should I go bigger on the stock ecu, in prep for a bigger turbo? Also which brand would you suggest?) Are 1,000cc injectors enough for a 20glt. I know I would need much bigger for the hta35r.

That is all I would need as of right now correct? Eventually w/ a bigger turbo I would go with a double fuel pump setup.

I haven't contacted Mitch from Vivid yet about a tune. Is there anyone out there that offers an E-85 email flash?

Anyhow thanks for your help a head of time.

im actually in the exact same position as you, so far i have all the bolt ons with stock turbo with the intent to go larger like yourself, i plan on going for 1000cc's, i have an lc-1 wideband from innovate.

What i also want to know is if there is anyone that can do an email flash for e85 as im not too sure about giving it a shot myself just yet?

bttt for an answer

In order to run the 20gLT to it's full potential you'll need 1200cc injectors and a dual pump setup. You can get by with 1000cc's for now, but it would be better to go ahead and buy the bigger ones from the start.

That is basically what I thought, however can I run 1200cc injectors one the stock ecu. I heard that it shouldn't be a problem, but don't know for sure.

Shouldn't have a problem. I've seen many 03-04's have problems with larger injectors and idle issues, but people have figured out more tricks with the stock ECU so it should be ok. I can tell you that I have two friends with 03's and a GM MAF blow through setup made the car idle and drive a lot better with big injectors and big cams.

My tuner said he is up to trying the 1200cc, however I am a little worried as I don't want to have to change them several times. Is there anyone directly running 1200cc injectors on a ecuflash?

Dude, look at this thread "E85 and Evo Green". mplspilot is runing the FP green, 1000cc injectors and one walbro. 28 psi, 400whp.

Doesn't seem like he is having any problems. Why go overkill?

It is still very possible that I will go with a 3076r, or even hta35r. So I don't want to be limited if the 1200cc injectors work fine. Anyhow I have already ordered the 1200cc ones, so I will let you guys know what I find out soon.

He's having to make the turbo taper back down to 21psi because he's running out of fuel up top. Read through the thread a little more closely.

I ran the 20GLT max'd out boost wise with Bushcur's twin pumps and 1,000cc injectors. The car was running 11.1 and the injector duty cycle was about 80%.

Which 1000cc's were you running? We were wondering if the pump would run out first or if the injectors would.

I was running the 1,000's that Buschur sells. The 1,000's with Buschur's twin pumps will more than cover a 20GLT. I wish I could say the same for a GT35R as I would be running E85 in the Magnum. I also have to resolve the foam filled fuel cell problem.

Long term, I want to figure out a solution for the GT35R and a road race setup on E85...unless VP wants to help me out. C16 @ $10/gallon is spendy when I can have E85 for free.

I guess I'll try out a twin pump setup first before I upgrade injectors.

I went with the 1200cc injectors, and I will probably go with a gt3076r instead of a 20glt. The spool is very similar, while you don't get as much low end torque.... The peak hp is usually better. Then I figure if I want to go with a hta35r or something down the road I will just swap out the turbos. I will keep updates.

Went with the 1200cc injectors and the car is up and running fine on the stock ecu... Took a little extra time to dial them in right but no problems..
