Anyone else have similar numbers?
Just filled up and my first tank full of E85 averaged 14.19 mpg. This is all in-town driving; no free-way driving. I live three miles from work; I go home for lunch every day. I do a lot of short trips. The tank full lasted 7 days. I filled up when the fill-up light came on; took 12.26 gals. and went 174 miles.

So i averaged it out that my first tank would have got me 190miles. This was mostly around town pushing the pedal to the floor alot. Second tank - about 14.2mpg all around town plus one Autox event. I burnt about 1/4 of a tank at the autox according to the gauge.

91 has dropped in price by 7 cents here over the past 2 weeks (at least it has at the station that i get the e85) E85 has went up to 3.69 a gallon.

Konad - what injectors are you running?

The one thing people forget about E85, is you have to calculate the "value" of the fuel by mile.. Not by gallon..

Ultimately Cost per mile for E85 and Premium is about the same at this point..

Just my 2cents since i cannot run E85 on a daily basis because I only have two (not so close) places to fill up with and experiment with it.

Mike,

Does this include some freeway driving? Mostly freeway?

That's about what I was getting on 91 before switching to E85.

A mix. The first tank was 50/50 city/freeway with no AC usage and more flogging. The 2nd tank was a 100% freeway trip with the AC on full blast the whole time.

Before switching to E85, I was getting 29-31mpg on the freeway. I am tuning the car myself on an EMS. Other mods are:

3" BR TBE
BR UICP w/ 1g BOV
Walbro 255hp
PTE 1000s
AEM UEGO

Great Cost per mile and miles per dollar calculator located here last time i checked it cost me about 4cents more per mile if i keep my foot out of the gas pedal while on e85.

For me you gotta compare it to the cost of Race gas as ethanol is higher octane than standard gas. This makes it at least 200% cheaper

There is another calculator somewhere out there as well...

Most of my driving lately has been expressway only, and the best I've seen to date was 23mpg. Typical mpg is more like 18-19.

Just took a full tank of E85 to 285miles. Now that's cost effective.

That's like 22-23 mpg. I'd be amazed if it was true E85.

It is true e85, it was the driving conditions I was in. Took a road trip with the wifey and just cruised. It comes out to 20mpg. I have it set pretty lean on cruise conditions.
