Given what I've heard about used ones failing, I'd still rather buy a new one.

i have had search alerts set up on ebay for these for about a year now, and as some of you already stated, they are consistently selling immediately for over $350 now. at least i know i'm not the only one wondering where to get them, and for less.
I have the Serbian gauge that displays it's output, but not the sensor.

Is it possible to get this working with our evos?

when you say "working" do you mean hooked up with a usable output signal, or "working" in the sense that your ECU will make adjustment based on the output signal by itself? i know for a fact that people have it hooked up, powered, and are using its output, but AFAIK the true flex-fuel patch for our cars is still in development by private parties. to To *try* to answer your question, YES, it *should* be possible, but we don't know for sure yet

I'm using it with Tephra v5 to switch automatically between my E85 and gas tunes. Full flex fuel (running any blend on the fly) doesn't work yet though

I would be willing to pay for something like that. Even if a standalone needed to be converted.

I ran e85 for about 8 months. It was a hassle always keeping my laptop with me and keeping it powered. (In Houston, Tx)

Now I'm in louisiana, we only have 1 pump.

Im really waiting for the microfueler to come out.

The Tephra patch.

Do you tune the high octane map for e85? then tune the low octane map for pump?

How would this work with such a huge difference in fuel needed?

Tephra v5 is available now and is donationware. It will autoswitch between maps for straight gas and straight E85. Just need to feed the ECU the appropriate signal. The current ethanol sensor setup that most people are using is a GM flex fuel sensor and freq to voltage converter. Voltage from the convert is fed into the ECU for the autoswitching.

Tephra's ROM has separate maps (different from the high oct maps and low oct maps) for alternative fuel conditions.

There are alt maps for fuel, timing, boost, and I think injector scaling.

Forgot to mention that of course high flow injectors and a Walbro fuel pump are needed for a stock turbo. For more than a stock turbo, even more fuel flow capability is needed.

Eventually I want to try just having about 4-5 different maps on a laptop, the GM sensor hoooked up to the Serbian fuel comp. gauge, and just load different maps depending that i'm seeing on the wideband and fuel comp. gauge, and turning the MBC accordingly. Regarless of your setup, even with true map-switching on the stock ECU for flex fuel, you will probably still have to adjust boost manually right? A GM BCS and appropriate pre-set boost tables for each of those fuel maps would be even more ideal. I know the auto map switching itself is not even ready yet, but is this a possibility?

I use a GM BCS controlled by the stock ecu. Tephra v5 has alternate boost tables so boost automatically changes between 23psi on 92oct and 30psi on E85

Can do 4-5 maps if you like, but like I said and Merkzu said, boost map switching already works. True flex fuel map interpolation for gasoline-E85 blends will apply, at minimum, to fuel, timing, boost, and injector scaling. If other maps need interpolation, those will be included as well. I've kind of been waiting to see what tephra does, but since no word from him yet on his flex fuel ROM mods, I may do it myself because I'm hopefully only a week away from installing my injectors, Walbro, flex fuel sensor, and converter box.
