e85 storage in gas cans

I had a question. The nearest E85 station is kinda far from my house (30 miles each way). Can I safely pump my 5 gallon gas containers with e85 and store it in my ventilated shed for say 2-3 weeks? Does e85 go bad like gas?

Are there any open flames in this shed? Water heater? Furnace? Pilot lights? Electrical contactors or relays? Is it connected to your house? Or stand-alone? Is it well vented? Or air tight?

As I understand it, you will be fine. Search the Internet. There are several people storing E85 in cans and drums. Simply apply the same common sense safety precautions you would with gasoline.

As far as shelf life, good question. Google found: E10 shelf life is 90-100 days. I presume E85 would be similar.

Jim is on the front lines with E85 and the information your providing is much appreciated.
I was wondering about this as well, since I'll be storing the normal five gallon Race Fuel Drum. I'm not that far as the OP is from a station, but better safe then sorry.
Jim, have you talked to James Reese about tuning. Reese Tuning has a Dynojet and is located in Santee (East San Diego County) not that far off the 8 HWY and might be a little closer then RRE and a hell of a lot easier drive, then going in to L.A.. He really is the only EVO specific Tuner shop in San Diego and his partner Alan is a very knowledgeable Tuner.

E85 is a great fuel to tune on. Good for environment, and more boost for the car!

Does anyone have a good recommendation for storing it in your trunk? I'm looking for a can to hold between 5-10 gallons that i can secure in my trunk that wont bang around just in case i get stranded without e85 nearby.

Thanks,
Jeff

ive had 5 gallons of e85 sit in a can on my garage floor for over a month and it still tested the same as it did when i filled it up.

also had 2 55 gallon drums in my garage of E85 since march, STILL tests as e85. using it with no problems. as long as its sealed properly you should be fine
