E-85 +/-
Obviously, we all know e-85 is fun and worth it. But, it's no where near me. What would you say your gains are just from running E-85 / and would you ditch it?
Ex: Say you have all bolt ons and e-85 + tune @ 400/400
What would you being with out e85? Is it hard to get too 400 without it.
I dont want to go through the troubles of E-85 or alky/meth

Couldn't help myself, Smike!
E85 will add from 50-75whp; same for trq., depending on elevation, boost level, synchronicity of the chosen bolt-ons, and aggressiveness of the tune.

I sympathize with the OP. Your closest E85 is 80 miles away in Warrensburg.
There are a few people who claim to have acheived 400/400 on gas only. I'm sure it was on a DynoJet and prolly downhill with a tail wind.

My max capable more hp on E85 is about 60-70hp and about 50tq. That's all the car will take with the basic bolt ons that I have currently. As it stands now, it's only 50hp up from pump and maybe 30 tq. The current tune is a drive ability/ autox tune, hence down on power and going for the smooth graphs.
My current graph is located in VDR thread- titled 'ultimate autox" E85 is definitely the way to go, due to the flexibility of the tune and what you can manipulate with it.
Obviously the knock factor and price come into play. But that's secondary to what I mentioned before.

If you want it for "special occations," you could load two maps in a laptop/mini, run pump gas normally, and e85 when you have time to visit the station that sells it. I am close to two e85 stations, but still have two maps in my laptop for travel.
You have to be the judge to determine if the expense of the conversion (injectors, pump, rail, tune) is worth the limited time you can run e85. IMO, it was the best cost/performance benefit of any mod. that I have made.

On my 50-trim it was good for ~100whp/100wtq over a previous 93 tune. On the HTA35R it should be good for ~150-200whp/100-150wtq over 93 octane; need to upgrade my internals to test that out. It's definitely worth the conversion if it's available to you.
