Maybe there is a difference in percentage of blend. Does anyone know if e70 for example likes richer mixtures than e85? I would think so but have no first hand experience as the blend here has stayed pretty constant 80-85+ percent.

Just a thought.

PS for my car MPG and HP both went up going from 11ish to 12to1 AF. I'm kind of a chicken so I haven't tried any leaner.

just got engine back together. it is richer than I thought. it hits 10.5 for a second when boost hits. EGT only hitting 640C now. time for a good dyno tune.

We have E70 fore sure, year round.

But I would think if it was that big of a deal, you couldn't get away with 40+ PSI on the stuff. There are several GT42 cars locally that have no problem running pump E85 (E70) at 40+ PSI. They have to tune it rich though.

I just finished up a tank of 65% ethanol running my 75% ethanol (E85) tune. Because of the higher gasoline content and slightly cooler weather, AFRs were hovering around 11.3-11.5:1 instead of the usual 12.2:1. The car ran awesome with no knock at my E85 ignition timing and boost levels.

Somehow I have been running around with my car at 12.9-13.0 AFR for the last month or so and I didn't even catch it. I haven't been driving the car much and I got lazy looking at the AFR. I caught it yesterday when I did a 4th gear pull to check everything out.

I think I forgot to change my scaling back from when the local station was serving up E50 so now its about a point too lean... oops

No knock light at all though... Just a bit too toasty for me.

keep it between 11.5 and 12.0 and you'll be fine.

You are way too rich in your fueling. Your *** dyno is obviously broke. Use a real dyno or someone elses ***.
