just when i thought 2010 would be the year for a good surge in E85 users in the UK apparently a large multi national has announced removal of its sale from 144 stations that currently sell it

That is too bad- they jumped the gun a little quick IMO. This was likely due to the poor sugar cane harvest in Brazil last year coupled with sugar beet and cane harvests being lower in two high sugar consumption/production countries- India and Pakistan (who had cut cane production due to poor profitabilty)- sugar prices went from $15 to $25 briefly and ethanol production was cut to provide more sugar. Now things are beck on track- cane and beet acres plus yield/acre are up, sugar is back down to $15 and the pipes are filling with ethanol again. Europe is primarily sugar based ethanol.
