2150cc and c-16 any experience?

Wondering if anyone out there has experience with either fic 2150 or Id 2000 and race gas? C-16, not q-16? I'd like to see ecu maps, and what it takes to make this combo work together?

There is no secret, its like tuning anything else. The injectors work the same as a 1000cc just bigger.

The seals in the injectors dont take oxygenated fuels.. 2150 is WAY OVERKILL on gas.. you can make near 800hp on 1200cc..

This. The seals swell up with oxygenated fuels causing serious problems with the ID2000's and other similar injectors. I loved my PTE 1200's, but wanted to switch it up with the new build. The ID2000's don't disappoint, but IMO unless you are making really big numbers they are not needed. There are more cost efficient ways to solve fuel issues. As stated, my PTE1200's ran great on E-85 and 93 oct for my stock motor...

I have yet to try them with C-16 but doubt I will ever get to that point. E-85 is the right fuel for me. Readily available in the area and much cheaper than race gas.

I don't know near enough about chemistry, do you know what specifically causes that to happen? Not that I would, I mean you never know, but would that mean no methanol through these guys?

Mike, what was your IDC at 900hp on E85? Any breathing room?

Here are a couple of references to check compatibility-
BTW Ethanol=ethyl alcohol and Methanol=methyl alcohol
You will find MOST of the best seals for ethanol are the same for methanol (most but some small differences in a few that could matter on the long haul)
The trick is finding out what materials you have in your fuel system.

I know eth and meth are similar, I just always thought Meth was oxygenated.

i wanted the option to go to e-85 but i wanted to run either race gas or pump gas. I ended up going to straight e-85 and these are my favorite injectors in the world!!

This is second hand info, but I heard today that it was the MTBE in Q16 that reacted with the seals. Any one have anymore insight?

I just scored my set of 2150cc injectors from MAPerformance today. THey will be here on firday and I am hitting the dyno firday also. In a few weeks I might toss some c16 in just to see how they do, but from the results I am seeing so far on e85 why would you ever run anything but e85. I could see running pump again if you run out of e85.

Quick Reply: 2150cc and c-16 any experience?
