^^^not sure if this was directed at me or not, but yes, I know that you cannot buy just the filter for the pump assembly. We have been discussing in-line filters and what works for e85.

So the stock evo 8 fuel pump has a filter built into it, but then what about the walbro 255? does it have a filter built into it? Im also switching to E85 next week, theres under 50k on the car but was thinking about replacing the fuel filter untill now it seems like theres not really one to replace? Should i invest into a inline fuel filter?

No, the oem Evo 8/9 fuel pump *assembly* has a fuel filter in it.

yeah i undetstand the OEM fuel pump has a filter built into it but since i have a walbro 255 fuel pump does that mean that theres is no fuel filter, or is there one built ino the walbro also? It sounds like a inline filter is the way to go? or will i be fine the way i am

Again, the fuel pump *assembly* has a filter in it, it's the big white plastic thing around the fuel pump.

No you would have to cut up your stock hanger like a double pumper to remove it... the inline filter I am using is a wix P/N 33310 for an Audi RS6 it is 5/16" nipples on each end and 40 micron.

Here is a pic of what the intank/in-sender filter looks like...

i know this is an old thread, but thanks for this link.

looks like exactly what i need, high flow, good filtration and an easy fit without having to buy a bunch of fittings.
