I've been searching to see if I could find what people are using for an inline filter but haven't found anything. So what are you E85 guys using for an inline filter? Where are you placing the filter? Also how do you relieve the pressure from the fuel line prior to install?

I wish an aftermarket EVO vendor would address this issue. It seems to me that adding an in-line filter after the factory filter makes little sense. I think there needs to be some kind of a filter kit that includes eliminating the OEM filter and replacing it with some kind of an under-hood serviceable or replaceable in-line fuel filter. I have not been able to find anything like this specific to the EVO.

Isn't the only filter on the evo the screen on the fuel pump? I've done some looking on Jegs and other sites and have found lots of inline fuel filters that could probably fit the bill. I was just wondering if anyone has something they prefer. I might just pick on from there and give it a try. Whats the size of the fuel line?

BlaqOps provides that very thing in their kits.

Has a under the hood serviceable SS inline filter with the OEM snap fittings and everything. You can get them from SpeedElement, who is a vendor on here:

That's for their double pumper kit, correct? I would like to see something for those of us who don't need that much fuel flow.

EDIT: OK, found it on SpeedElement. Not double pumper. It says it is specifically for EVO X. Will it fit an EVO VIII as well?

Ths sock on the fuel inlet in the tank at the pump isn't a filter in the classical sense. The Evo therefore doesn't have one- IE a filter that can and is supposed to be replaced outside the fuel tank like most every other car-- why?-- well I dont know. I would think you could put any injection filter you wanted on the vehicle in any place you wanted to-- I would assume as close to the fuel tank as possible..

You could do the same in theory. Use the same inline filter but use the normal evo 8/9 fittings and cut out and bypass the plastic in-tank filter like they do with the double pumpers.

On the Evo 8/9 the actual fuel filter is integrated in the white plastic fuel pump assembly so yes, there is an actual fuel filter.

Thanks for the info Bryan. Any idea on how often the in-tank fuel filter needs to be changed? I have not changed mine in 6 years and am about to make the switch to e85 this weekend, which will probably release all sorts of great stuff from the tank and system.

You don't ever service the filter in the stock housing, it's integrated and only sold as the entire assembly.
